After having visited in 2015 the restaurant of this château which is run by Dutch owners who also rent 'gîtes' to their guests and offer a small golf course, we decided some weeks ago in 2017 to have another 'go', as our last experience was quite a positive one. Especially, the effective mixture of modern furniture within a historic building...

I was surprised and delighted by the incredible charm of this chateau. The exterior is traditional (on beautiful land by a vineyard), and the interior decor is fresh, contemporary, and very welcoming. We felt comfortable from the very beginning: warmly welcomed, warmed by the fire, and pleased to discover delicious amuses-bouches to enjoy. In the winter, it makes for a...

My partner and I really enjoyed our time at the Chateau les Merles! We were warmly welcomed when we arrived and sat by the fire to enjoy a couple glasses of sparkling wine, before we were shown to our room. Our room was beautifully and simply decorated. We had a great view of the vineyards and were able to take...

We had the most amazing stay at chateau les Merles this September. We were welcomed by friendly and relaxed staff and offered free glasses of champagne and nibbles, and given some time to relax in the beautiful courtyard before being shown to our room. Our room, across the courtyard, was in an old oak frame building, traditionally built, presumably restored to...

This could hardly ever be described as a four star Hotel, except perhaps in some parallel Universe. We were shown to our €250 a night room (a.k.a "suite") by a very disinterested and charmless waiter. Which didn't lift the feeling of disappointment that we had upon reaching the room - minimalist and colourless furnishings, a dark almost unlit bathroom, creaking...

In average, the dinner was made with poor quality local products (tasteless morilles...), poor dish presentation, lack of creativity. Exceptional and very enjoyable setting and terrace makes dinner outside a great experience.

We were traveling and stayed one night, great location and lovely surroundings, rooms are nice but basic, expensive for what they are. A great swimming pool and lovely gardens. We are ate in the restaurant and the food, staff and service was totally outstanding. Very comfortable beds.

Really good value cuisine done to a high standard. Very friendly and relaxed atmosphere with great service who spoke good English and were helpful in translating some of the menu. We enjoyed our three course set meal for €29 outside in the beautiful courtyard area. There's also a standard menu with a wide choice dishes. Wonderful evening, highly recommend this...

Absolutely amazing stay in the chateau les merles. We went for a relaxing holiday and had the intention of doing nothing after both having a mad few weeks at work and that's exactly what we did. We had amazing weather so spent most days being super lazy and chilling by the pool drinking the house champagne (made in the vineyard...
