The restaurant of this hotel offers good food (though not outstanding). For Italian standards it's probably average and the interior is somewhat dated. And you have to ignore the Swiss owner who is a bit noisy. Otherwise it's rather good, with an extra star for the wine list, which offers very good wines for very, very reasonable prices.

We just spent a night at this beautiful Villa so beautifully presented in the picturesque village of Panzano. We were sorry to spend only one night there. Our room was quite large and very well presented. It was a 19th Century Villa owned by gentry and the new owners had it remodelled in the 60's. It has been so tastefully... More

Panzano was our first stop on a 10 day trip in Italy. The Villa Sangiovese was a perfect place to begin. The rooms were clean and spacious, views lovely, we had a large outdoor balcony with views up to the church and down to the valley. Breakfast was simple brioche, cafe and rolls. The hotel owners couldn't have been more... More

Bettye and I had another wonderful visit to Panzano and stayed , as usual, at hotel Sangiovese for part of our trip. Very clean and orderly and so near Florence and Siena and the vineyards . We have been to this town for many yearly visits and enjoy the hospitality of the owners.

This is a lovely hotel situated in Panzano on the Chianti road approximately half way between Firenze and Sienna. It is run by Ulderico and Anne Marie Bleuler-Staerkle who gave us a great welcome. Originally a 15th century vinery it is located amongst some of the finest vineyards in the area. This is a great location for exporing Tuscany being... More

This hotel is a little jewel run by two lovely people, Anne-Marie and Ulderico. We have stayed there twice having been so impressed the first time by the welcome and hospitality we received to say nothing of the excellent food and wine. Panzano is situated on the Chianti Road and is ideally located for visiting such places as Sienna, Firenze,... More

I enjoyed my stay here - the staff friendly and helpful. The views from the garden are stunning and the breakfast seved on the terrace was delicious. The gardens are well kept and the pool was all one could wish for. My only complaint is that the wifi is turned on and off at the whim of the owners. So... More

the experience was just horrible. the owner,an old man completely drunk, tried to kick me out from the hotels, physically threatening, cursing and screaming, just because I asked him to fix the light in my room. the worst hotel of my life. to be avoided.

Villa Sangiovese was a good choice for us as we had booked at Dario Checcini that evening. If you are planning to go to that place for dinner you should be aware that driving afterwards is not recommended - therefore we chose to stay directly in Panzano. The hotel is directly at the city center (which is not quite big).... More

The hotel is located in the center of the small town Panzano. We got a warm welcome, parking was nearby, the room was nice and very clean, and the breakfast was good. The hotel made dinner reservation for us at "the butcher", so we did not try the restaurant.
