Detailed Reviews
We was actually moved too this hotel after a terrible start at another hotel.
We was pleasantly surprised here, it’s not the fanciest hotel you could stay at but it’s most defo not the worst. For a smaller budget we had a great time here.
The pool area is lovely and well maintained, never a fight for sunbeds. Pool toilets was very clean.
There is no pool bar or shop onsite but u can pop next door too the Montebello and use those.
The rooms are clean and maids came in every day we was there changed beds and fresh towels. You do see a few cockroaches in the corridors sometimes but none in our rooms. It’s easy walking distance too the commercial centre around 8 mins downhill. We always got a taxi back up though which cost €4.
Overall we was happy with these apartments and would return.

These apartments are basic but clean, great location, near the Shopping Centre with all the shops and bars and the Port with lovely restaurants and the beach. It is up a bit of hill but always plenty taxis to you get you up it. The pool bar is great for a drink or bit of light lunch and the staff are great craic. These apartments are all studio. The view is amazing. You need to be up early to get bed by the pool but the terrace area is just as nice and plenty of room, would recommend Puerto Plata.

Aparthotel Puerto Plata in Puerto Rico, Gran Canaria is a fantastic accommodation option. Before arriving, we requested Block A, top floor due to seeing previous reviews. It has a great view of the sea, pool and is close to the pool in walking distance. Upon emailing, we was honoured this straight away which was unusually great!
Accommodation was regularly cleaned to a good standard, with no issues, however we had a daily problem of ants in our bathroom. They always seemed to gather around and in the sink, wasn't worth complaining and moving rooms for. Just washed them away. The pool area was clean and enjoyable, apart from being a daily battle for sunbeds at 9am every morning. It also seems that locals as well as friends & family of staff turn up daily, mainly on a weekend. They are very loud, boisterous and rude around the pool. They should not be allowed to turn up for the day, use the facilities and leave when everyone else pays.
All staff, especially Alessandro the lifeguard and Manuel the bar man are fantastic. Very outgoing, friendly and a good laugh. Some reviews regarding Manuels behaviour are just biased. Do not take these as gospel. Manuel works long hours and does a great job. When drunk and rude people keep goading him, of course he will react. I'm sure some of these claims are exaggerated.
The hill to the nightlife/centre is fine. Walking down is obviously easy. Coming back up is sweaty work. We walked down and up every night, it is a struggle but I heard taxis are cheap enough, under 3Euro.
I would most certainly return and look forward to doing so.
P.S. Do not rent a fan @ 15Euro per week + 10Euro deposit. Buy one from the centre for 20Euro and sell to a new arrival on your last day.

+1
Stayed at peurto plata for 4 nights 16th April. First the good things.
Great pool but doesn't open until at least 10am when the life guard turns up. That's all the good things now to the bad things
Rooms are very dated front door looked like it had been attacked with some sort of tool leaving gouges in it. Kitchen poor . The plug on the wall would spark when I tried to charge my phone. Reported. Shower in the bathroom was broken I reported it every day I was there they keep saying will fix tomorrow one day the receptionist said can't I just hold shower in my hand and shower that way? Bald head with glasses. Just a waste of time reporting anything .
They second day I was locked out my room as the key cards were not working reception was closed . Took nearly 2hrs to sort out 3 other people suffering the same thing. Wont mention the guy underneath us shouting swearing all day and night drinking not reception fault but security not bothered . Used to be a good place. Bar closed and restaurant also closed there. Could be so much better if run correctly

On arrival it looks like an 1950s inner city tenement building. No shop, no pool bar and pool side occupied by locals playing loud music and drinking all day with the area full of glass bottles and glass containers and all left for the pool man to clean up, he should have told them to obey the pool rules, as the real holiday makers had to do. Visited the Vista Grill for a meal and when I went to use the toilets it was worse than the worst public toilets I have ever seen so do yourself a favour and don't dare venture into this unfriendly health hazard place

Not at all as expected.A huge disappointment and overpriced. No bar, supermarket (15 mins to nearest 1) steep hills on way back.. No massage, hairdressers etc.it looks modern at reception but rooms aren't. No air con or fans. The room we were allocated on arrival as we hadn't been booked in pre arrival, luckily I had my booking confirmation to prove we had booked And thank fully they weren't fully booked!I would hate to think what would have happened if they were.. It was very dated and not as per picture on booking website. . I would not recommend at all.. Very loud music from shopping centre. The view was stunning and pool was nice when Spanish residents weren't taking up all the pool.. We will not return..

Studio flats with an annoying level difference in the middle. Good view and sunny and with sufficient distance from center to keep down the nightly noise from happy youngsters with surplus hormones. Large hotel with many corridors and maybe not first choice for those with reduced balance. Clean and equipped with what you expect to get - a good pool area, a good affordable restaurant and bars and short distance to the zoo in the center of Puerto Rico.

Please read all the reviews below carefully. I can tell you that this hotel has been in a bad state for some time. Upon our arrival it was clear it was going to a hard stay very strange prison type of feel to it. No air conditioning whatsoever..cockroaches in all corridors..no lock on patio door..shower leaking. Also Hotels bar/ restaurant and supermarket are SHUT! nothings open BEWARE. This Hotel is very high up the mountain so you need to be fit however you can get a taxi with your shopping ..The Hotel is very dated and should be demolished.Glad to be back home..Avoid

Awful place, stay away! No pool bar/supermarket/restaurant open. We didn't know this until we arrived. Very disappointing! No air con and we couldn't even hire fans for the apartments. Got bitten alive by mosquitoes at nite. Terrible accommodation would never return to this place.

Well we arrived to what looked like a really nice place to stay little did we know that 24 hours later we wanted to leave. We started to unpack and noticed there were a few clothes in the wardrobe which we removed and left outside our apartment. Little did we know that possibly the owner of these clothes would let themselves in to our apartment and take my 77 year old mums jewellery.
None of the locks were broken.
On reporting this to reception, who laughed in our faces, told us to go to the police station, which we did, but they wanted 40 euros to take a report, which my mum didn't want to pay and didn't want the hassle. This was supposed to be a recuperation holiday.
What upset us most was the fact that someone had been in the room and we were listening for noises during the night and were loathed to leave the apartment during the day,
The manager wouldn't go through the cctv nor the key data for our room on that day which leads me to believe that it was an inside job. No offer to move us, just gave us new keys.
Our tour operator was useless too.
This spoilt our holiday, which was supposed to be recuperation for my mum, and after speaking to others there who owned property, they had also been broken into 3 times in a space of a few months.
I would not recommend this property to anyone - don't go there unless you want your personal belongings stolen.

have a look on kyero ...there's a few on there.
Do you have any apartments for sale ?
Tends to be kept around the 24c to 26c which whilst a little bit of a shock to get in is a wonderful temperature to enjoy the facility.
