We spend 3 nights in the hotel and had a lovely stay.
The hotel staff is very friendly and really supportive. From the reception to the staff at the bar, the restaurant, lounge and the housekeeping staff, they were always friendly and I really felt we could ask them anything. Quick example: we were missing 1 type of pillow in the room, asked reception and 30 mins later the housekeeping staff brought the pillow to the room. All with a big smile.
The food in the restaurant and the lounge is good and the prices are what is to be expected from a hotel restaurant/ lounge. (3-course dinner with drinks was €150 for 2).
We loved the fact that in the morning there was a small paper on the breakfast table highlighting an excursion you could do. We did 2 of those and they were really nice (visit of the Arbotreum and a bike tour).
Now, we were unlucky with the weather, but that is nothing the hotel can change, so we also enjoyed the pool (it is small, but nice to take a dip) and their sauna area (which we really liked).
All in all, we had a lovely time and we really appreciate how friendly the staff was and we felt taken care of.
Price / Quality, we recommend De wilmersberg.

Perfectly situated close to the Dutch/German border, and thankfully only 2 hrs from Amsterdam. This hotel is a total gem! Beautiful gardens, birdsong to wake up to, a stunning restaurant (both dinner and breakfast are exceptional), calm, and some super staff running a ship-shape hotel. The spa/swimming area is great (apart from the slightly awkward nudity if you are not Dutch/German), and for the fairly good price you get an absolute top notch stay. Will gladly return next time I am on a business trip in Netherlands, and need somewhere to unwind and be refreshed!

we stayed for 3 nights in the suite. Comfortable room with comfy bed/linens.
nice little sitting area and a terras with quiet seating.

food was amazing.
for lunch the chef offers a small but very balanced menu. all dishes can be adjusted for vegetarian, vegan, or if you want fish or meat options.
diner was excellent with surprising combinations and completely different both nights. Accompanying wines are fantastic.

Hotel is perfectly located in a peaceful forest area, it has a small garden and overlooks a small field with cows. You can spend days exploring wonderful walking routes and just relax. The hotel and our renovated garden room were modern and very clean. I want also to highlights the outstanding work of the hotel staff: they were kind, friendly and efficient.
There were a couple of downsides considering the price we paid which set our expectations higher than we finally experienced. Room: the bathroom in our "renovated" room was not that clean with spots of use and dirt here and there. Kettle and nespresso machine were dirty and require replacement. We also did not like the food in the restaurant. Menu looks exclusive but all that we tried was not tasty, portions were small and super costly. We ended up eating burgers and that was the main reason we did not extend our stay. They do not limit the number of guests in the restaurant, it was very crowded while we had to wait >1 hour for the main dish. During the breakfast they put all the people together on the same side of the cafe while other cafe areas stay empty. I guess that simplifies the work of the restaurant staff but it is not comfortable for the guests in the corona time. Overall the "meal" management there was our main dissapointment. Normally you can just dine somewhere elso but that was not possible because of corona restrictions.

Dear Andrey, Thank you very much for your review after your stay at De Wilmersberg. We are pleased to read that you enjoyed the location of the hotel, the beautiful walks in the area and the hospitality of our colleagues. At the same time, we regret to read that your stay was not as expected. Unfortunately, you have not indicated this with us during, or after, your stay. We communicate with our guests in various ways to establish direct contact (with our colleagues, but also with us as management), so that we can take action to make the guests' stay carefree and perfect - if not already . We do not often hear that guests do not like the food in our restaurant or that it is not enough. If our guests indicate that they would like larger portions or supplements, such as French fries or extra vegetables, we always offer this. But our chef and his team are also happy to make a tailor-made dish. We sure do have a limit on guests in the restaurant, there are fewer tables than normal and the adjacent lounge is also been used as a restaurant, so we can guarantee sufficient distance between our guests. Due to the measures regarding COVID-19, the vast majority of guests want to have their main course eaten before 8 pm (after that we are no longer allowed to serve alcohol), which means that guests may have to wait a little longer than normal. It remains a time of give and take, also for us. Regarding breakfast: because we offer this in a buffet style (one colleague serves breakfast on the plates from behind the buffet) it does not matter to us where guests take place in the breakfast room, guests can choose their preferred table. Most guests want to sit at the window with the view over the estate, perhaps that feels like "the same side of the cafe". We shared your comments about the bathroom, the Nespresso machine and the kettle with our housekeeping, because everything just needs to be clean. Stay safe! With kind regards, Boudewijn and Githa van Vilsteren

The presentation is better than the experience, sorry to say that. Room was not done on the second day, at 17: 00 o'clock called after which someone still came. Apologize? No, we were busy and that was it.
Dinner is quite good quality but when I spend a few days on holiday I like to be a bit spoiled , vegetarian is so slowly being forced on us from all sides anyway. Doesn't have to be with a pretty expensive hotel experience. Response from some other guests was also identical. Perhaps some better info on the website. The lounge is beautiful and cozy, a pity that it sometimes seems as if the service has gone home. And apologies for being busy on Sundays, no you can't.

The location in an English park landscape with surroundings that invite you to take walks, hikes and bike rides through the small towns worth seeing is exceptionally beautiful. The hotel is in no way inferior to this. The food in the restaurant is of a high standard, and if you are less hungry, the bar is recommended, which also invites you to read. You can relax very well in this hotel, and the wellness area is also useful for this. The service is courteous without being over the top. We will be back.

Do not use the charging stations, which are three times more expensive than public charging in the city of Amsterdam! Actually, that's the only criticism I can give. The hotel is beautifully situated, the staff is very friendly, the food is delicious and varied, with a daily changing menu with local/regional influences. The rooms are fine, the beds fine. Overall highly recommended. Tip for the hotel is to adjust the loading rates, the annoyance is many times greater than the financial benefit.

Beautifully located, wonderful hotel where you can enjoy your peace and quiet and beautiful surroundings. Walking, cycling, everything is possible! We've been coming there for 30 years.
Beautiful new entrance that makes you immediately feel welcome.
Kitchen is highly recommended. Although the chef has been there for 10 years, he reinvents himself every time, especially vegetarian, he is a master chef.
Rooms are spacious, especially the garden rooms with terrace. Hospitable service and pleasant management.
Keep up the good work Githa and Boudewijn.

Our stay for some well-deserved rest and relaxation on the occasion of my partner's birthday exceeded all expectations. First, the room we booked with our VIP package was spacious and clean. Receiving birthday cards for my wife from the owners and staff was attentive and showed caring. At breakfast we were always greeted with a cheerful smile from Marleen, who was surpassed by the excellent freshly prepared food and the different types of juices and hot drinks. Dinner exceeded all expectations and the chef, Ronald, deserves praise for his creations, especially for the dedication to the visual presentation of each dish. Every evening we were served by Laureen, Diederik and Moritz, who made us all feel welcome. Laureen deserves kudos for her permanent and sincere smile, and what Diederik does not know about football is not worth knowing (Euro 2024). Finally, I would like to make a Special Listing of Denise. I talked to her a few times and she took good care of us when we needed something. She has a great future in the hospitality industry. There are two considerations for future improvement. First, Denise’s nameplate said ‘intern’. I don't think that's appropriate. She has a name and her position within your fine establishment is irrelevant. Secondly, on one of the days there was no water available in the sauna. There should always be drinking water in such areas. In short, a fantastic place, great location and congratulations, Boudewijn and Githa van Vilsteren, for setting a high standard in service. I wish you both good luck.

The perfect setting for a family gathering - we played tennis and had spa treatments and in the evening we had both Friday and Saturday two delicious dinners. The kitchen had outdone themselves and the sommelier chosen some wonderful wines.
We also rented a horse cart and did a trip in the wonderful surroundings.
All together the perfect place for a perfect event.
