Arrived in Helmsley Friday afternoon after having booked Afternoon Tea before our trip looking forward as this is mentioned as one of the best in UK, was very disappointed sandwiches must have been put in fridge and were hard and cold, after this we cancelled our meal booked for Saturday night, too expensive for a selection of quite nice cakes

Very helpful, charming and friendly staff, a credit to the hotel. Found Room 46 rather drab and gloomy with unpleasant outlook. Breakfast menu very good however, of 3 Dinner menus, Alacarte or Market menus had limited choice, the alternative Taster menu had 6 courses which didn't suit our appetite.

I have been to many weddings in my life and can truthfully say this Hotel was the best for a variety of reasons the first of which is that this is staffed by the most helpful friendly and hardworking workforce imaginable. The hotel is well placed in a picturesque market square with buildings that span several hundred years and yet...

I , personally, have stayed here previously, but many years ago when it was a Trust House Forte Hotel. It has retained the old world charm but has been significantly updated. It is well placed in the market square of this delightful town.we have popped in for lunch, and it has a very nice garden where you can take lunch...

Wonderful welcome as always. Beautiful room with Molton Brown goodies. Comfortable lounge and delicious breakfast. Local sausage, bacon and yogurts. Eggs had bright yellow yokes and were delicious. Look forward to returning. x

I must say that this hotel is the most overpriced place I have ever stayed. I am not sure how they ever got a AA four star rating. I had to book two rooms for me and my wife and two children. The rooms were dated and untidy in decor. There was paint peeling of the walls around the window,...

Peaceful for a relaxing break. Ideal for surrounding North Yorkshire attractions. Visit Hutten Le Hole, Farndale for daffs this time of year. Dalby Forest for cycling, trekking, back to nature etc. Various mansions and old halls. Staithes, Whirby, Scarborough, Bempton Cliffs + numerous coastal areas to explore.
