After a long tiring journey from Blenheim, it was lovely to be welcomed and shown to such a warm and pristine suite. After a blissful soak in the hot pools and a nice meal of blue cod at the local pub, we both slept really well, ready for the next day's travel. We would heartily recommend St James.

This was a modern, warm place to stay right in the heart of Hanmer. Perfect location for activities and dining. Hosts were very friendly, allowing us to change our booking (due to sickness) with no fuss. Games/dvds/etc all provided. Very clean.

We just loved the St James, the Isobel suite is such great luxury, under floor heating, large kitchen dining and lounge room, super thick curtains to keep the warmth in, good spa bath and excellent hosts!

Fabulous rooms - pricey but you can see why. The only minor criticism is some of the decor is not in fitting with the quality of the buildings but that is really picky. Great staff, amazingly well located. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, would recommend and come back.

We needed interconnecting rooms for our family of five and it was spaciously superb! Had everything we could want and more! Arriving in snow we found heated floors, towel rail and mirrors! A fireplace! You can tell they have tried to think of everything and have included it! The perfect way to finish a holiday! The owners Paul and Rae...

We returned for a second stay as we were so impressed with our first stay. Great communication (I booked direct). Beautifully clean, well equipped and great location and lovely views. Hosts are really friendly and helpful. They offered us towels to take to the pools with us, they even gave us a St. James bag to carry them in! We...

This was our second stay at the St James and we were not disappointed. The view from our room was wonderful - over a small lake to snowy mountains beyond. Hosts, Paul and Rae, are friendly and helpful. Room is spotless and everything you need for a relaxing break. You can make light meals in your room easily. Close to...

a beautiful place with great views and simple designed rooms that offer a luxurious experience. The polite old man at the reception is friendly. I really like that the room came with a small kitchenette which was so helpful. What I would recommend is to definitely carry a credit card or you have to bear the brunt of a $300...

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights whilst enjoying a relaxing weekend away in Hanmer Springs. Check-in was smooth and we were given all the information we needed, including recommendations for restaurants which was much appreciated. We stayed in a Deluxe Studio upstairs. I am a smoker and did not realise that the entire premises are non-smoking, so...
