As our first trip to Koh Samet, we thought the location of Vongduern Villas was amazing, as it is right on a fantastic beach which has the balance of being quiet by day with enough restaurants and bars to keep things lively by night. However, none of us in our group of 4 considered the standard of accommodation to be...

Vongduern is certainly not a luxury resort, but for the price of the rooms, there is certainly not much to complain about. We originally stayed in a standard room, with a view over the water, which was extremely basic, but suited our needs. We ended up changing to a superior room the next day, as our Neighbour had left large...

It began well enough. We took a speed boat to Koh Samet, but had to jump into the sea upon arrival, so walked up the beach dripping wet from thighs down! Check in was fast. There were 5 in our party, so we had two rooms. One was near the beach, in a Superior room; the other was a Family...

Location is a huge plus for this resort. They are one of the very few "good" resorts in this 'Ao Vongduen' beach. Sunshine is the manager of this property who speaks good english. Yes, his name is sunshine. He did offer me a discount on the fare and also was very resourceful. He also rented us a scooter at a...

We've just come back from 5 nights in this hotel and have had a wonderful time. We had not been to Koh Samet before, but picked this beach as it was the second largest on the island (we wanted to be in an area where there was enough going on, without being on the main beach). The hotel was lovely...

We stayed in Vongduern Villa for 2 nights. We were quite disappointed by the rooms, it was very small and simple. The most disappointing part was the bathroom which did not seem very clean and we felt like they should refurbish this room. They were ants in the room. Though, apart from the room, everything was perfect. Vongduern beach is...

The restaurant is lovely with low tables on the rocks shaded by trees and blessed by breeze at the end of the bay. Dinner has the usual, good quality and very reasonably priced Thai menu, including very good seafood. Breakfast is nothing to scream about, the usual island's menu which has not evolved in 20 years - but cheap. There...

The pictures posted on their website are so nice but it was nothing like that in real lilfe. We got a family suite. The sheets had stains, pillow cases had stains, and to my surprise, even my towel had a black stain! The bathroom was kind of disgusting with the door broken, thank God they had hot showers though. There...

Stayed here in one of their new rooms. Would describe it as perfect except for one thing, which isn't really their fault. The loud music from the beach bars travels right across the bay, so you can hear thumping bass till 2am every night. It started at 7am one morning as well. It's such a shame because the location is...
