In this little village there is very few choices of where to eat within distance of the campsite. We viewed the hotel with suspicion because it was quiet but we enjoyed ourselves immensely enjoying the local 'fish pot' and accompanying chips and salad. We chatted to the chef/waiter/host about the locality and he showed us his interesting collection of counting...

We used this hotel as a stop over en route to Holland. We arrived very late (after midnight) and the owner was still up to meet us. Room was reasonable size and clean. Shower also good. This was a very brief stay and we needed to leave at 6.30. The breakfast room was not open at that time but the...

Stopped off for lunch at the hotel on a trip down to the ferry at Calais. The owners were very friendly, and we had some soup and toasties to keep us going, but food was average. The decor is very traditional and there is a friendly resident dog to add some interest. As usual places like this are better than...

We went as a party of four on 6th December and we were warmly greeted, we were early arriving about 12.00 midday but they said it was all right, took our bags up to the room and then went off on the bus to Bruges. We had a lovely meal when we got back from Bruges and drinks. Nice breakfast...

There is nothing worse than being turned away from your destination when you are travel weary. This was our first visit to Hotel Carpe Diem. We were a family party of 5 adults passing through and wanted to check out the Bruges Christmas market so we needed only one night, Saturday, before moving on to Ghent the following morning. Our...

Lamb stew with new potatoes and deer which came with crougues with a poached pear and cranberries. Was a beautiful like home cooked meal but in this...

A simple hotel in the very centre of the village. We arrived on a dull cold November evening but the welcome was warm. The owner spoke perfect English and was able to provide a fabulous meal of local fish (Sole) even at 2000 hours. The accommodation was traditional if slightly dated but more than adequate. The location is convenient for...
