If you want to relax, this is the perfect place. 7 km from Ferreira do Zêzere, using a mountain road you reach to Lago Azul. Small place almost only with the hotel, the river and the restaurant serving the river beach. During the summer normally is full. You can go to the river artificial beach by foot (less than 5 min walking) with water temperature above 18 degrees. The Estalagem do Lago Azul is not modern but it gives you the sensation that it should be a cosy winter hotel. You can enjoy your meals in the hotel bar or restaurant. It's served by an outdoor pool that starts to have shadow from the middle of the afternoon. After the sun is down the hotel surroundings start to come down. It's an excellent choice for a family vacations specially with kids.

Peaceful retreat with river and mountains in the surroundings, amazing location overlooking the water. Rooms comfortable and clean. Free wifi and parking. There's play room, we could play mini golf at the resort "Apartamentos do lago" nearby also we can use their pool. Breakfast plenty of choice. If you need to rest this is the right place.

Brilliant place to relax and enjoy nature, absolutely loved it and can not recommend more! I’ve been at the Estalagem Lago Azul with a few friends last weekend and enjoyed every minute of it. The place is perfect for the family with a beautiful swimming pool by the amazing Zêzere river. If you are in the mood for some adventure there are plenty of options right in front of the Estalagem: wake board, ski, banana boats, kayaks, boats for rent and more. The food is absolutely great, the staff is very friendly and rooms are clean. Loved it and will be back for sure, it’s a true gemstone in the countryside.

Great place with a peaceful, beautiful location. Lots of stuff to do by the river, only criticism is that the place could have more restaurants nearby, but again, you are in the middle of nature! Staff is wonderful and goes out of its way to satisfy guests. Would go back again!

We were simply looking for a hotel near Tomar, and this hotel looked interesting. It is. It is on the lake behind a dam, and the setting is beautiful. Rooms are quite large, perhaps a bit dated, but very clean. We didn't have supper here, as we had already eaten, but the buffet breakfast in the morning was excellent - a lot of variety, and everything tasted very good. The price when we stayed was quite reasonable. The highlight of the hotel, though, is really its grounds and the setting on the lake. The hotel is built well above the lake, and then the grounds are a series of terraces down to lake level. There are lots of places to sit and read or relax, a nice pool, and you can go down to the lake to swim or just to dangle your feet in the water. It is about 30 minutes to drive from Tomar to the hotel. The highway from Tomar up to Ferreira do Zezare is a good secondary highway; east of there, the road becomes much more winding, much slower driving, and is quite narrow, but it is still completely safe and is very scenic. I wouldn't want to travel it at night, however. Ferreira do Zezare has supermarkets and gas stations; there isn't much around the hotel area, which is quite isolated.…

There is a supermarket at the Village and a small cafe where you can buy water at the Blue Lake.
If you have a GPS just search for Ferreira do Zezere, if not the easiest way will be to search on Via Michelin website as we are not allowed to paste links on Trip Advisor.

First of all I would like to wish you a wonderful New Year 2018 and to thank you for your preference for Hotel Estalagem Lago Azul.
It is allowed to swim all year round in the Lake same as in our swimming pool. Usually the weather is really nice and warm around April or May.
We do have water pedals complementary for our guests and there are companies at the Blue Lake that rent paddle surf and kayaks as well as the first cable park wakeboard resort in Europe open all year round at just 700 meters from our Hotel.

"Top floors have better view.Suites are on the corners and are 100% private and facing the river. Some double rooms facing the river loose some of there privacy because of the varandas of the large suites. FRom the corners of these you have view to some of the double rooms. For total privacy go for the junior or large suite."Read full review
