Nice place, but difficult to find. Had to telephone the owner to and put into Google maps to locate. We have travelled all over world and enjoy staying in quiet remote locations, but this was difficult to find. You cannot drive directly to the hotel as it has no adjacent parking. The owner has to come and find you to collect your luggage, as tiny track is too small to get a car down, he uses a one seat electric Renault twizzy with a trailer. It would be good if when we had booked this on booking.com it had given an accurate description of the location and what to do when you arrive and where you have to leave your car. So GPS co-ordinates would be a help on the directions page. Rooms very modern, lovely views, nice pool and friendly owners.
Imagine that you are lost in a very small village in Cinfães, Douro, trying to navigate digitally to a local hotel. Then the friend of a local bystander picks up her mobile and calls a friend of a friend who had been working on a new, local mini-hotel built inside of a hard-to-find farm not too far away ... And the owner suggest he comes down (in his electric car) and guides you up to his place! Analog navigation! The hotel is new and ultra modern. E.g. it produces all the electricity it (and it's indoor swimming pool) needs from solar and geothermal energy! You've simply got to get in your car, call the host when you arrive in the area, and experience it yourself - including the tranquility of the sunset hour. We're sure you will forgive the details that reveal that the small hotel is not yet fully streamlined.…
Hotel does not have services available, no proper parking, swimming pool was not working, no proper heating, bad food, bad breakfast. We changed hotel after first night. Bathroom door did not exist and the room was all night with humidity running on the walls.
