Just had a lovely wee break here. Very helpful owner held our room for us for an extra day as check in was delayed due to ill health. Previous reviews mention dated decor - a few public areas are still awaiting refurbishment but our room had already been done - Room 45 - very comfortable and clean. Bathroom is brand...

Stayed on a low cost break. What we got was a budget hotel catering primarily for bus trips for elderly people. The food was decent enough tasting but the presentation not good. The food had obviously been prepared in bulk as was evident by the speed which it arrived on your table. It was best to eat early as food...

Nice coach Inn style hotel. Friendly staff willing to accommodate. Bar meals were very good quality and quantity. Restaurant meals were nice but service very very quick almost felt rushed at dinner service. This hotel is well located for visits to Aviemore and Highland wildlife Park. The WiFi is intermittent and slow and only available in lounge felt like a...

We booked this hotel as a last minute get away, we weren't sure what to expect based on some of the reviews but we were pleasantly surprised. The first floor room was clean, bright and warm. We were on a DB&B deal, dinner was fine and the menu changed both nights, the service was quick, three courses and coffee all...

On arrival we were met on the coach by a lovely young man who gave us our room numbers without any fuss. The young porter carried everyone's case to their room, he was so pleasant. The room was clean and comfortable and the beds were comfy. The food was lovely (especially the desserts) with coffee or tea afterwards and served...

Stayed there for 3 nights. Can't praise the hotel or staff highly enough. The food was excellent. Room and on suit. Very clean and comfortable. Room cleaned daily. When we stayed there there was 3 bus tours. Every one was catered for with out waiting too long to be served at meal times. Our room had tea/coffee making facilities. It...

My daughter and I recently stayed here for two nights. This was our second visit as the hotel Is excellent value for money. The staff are amazing, so friendly and very professional. Accommodation is very clean and comfortable, can't fault them in anything. Thank you for a great stay once again.

If you want a warm welcome and great service, large warm clean rooms with comfortable beds, good size bathroom (recently renovated) with power shower, good quality food then you can do a lot worse than the HH. True the WiFi is patchy at best and the dining room/bar is dated, which in a strange way adds to the character of...

It would be easy to mock the HH with a pithy review. Bespoke by name and nature? Well yes it is - the decor is dated, wifi ain't great and it does remind me of crossroads but more importantly remember a time when good customer service and value for money was the norm? Well welcome to Newtonmore HH 2015. Attentive...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
For true Highland hospitality come to the Highlander, a hotel renowned for its good food and warm welcome. The hotel is an ideal base for touring the North of Scotland with mountain ranges, forests, lochs and river valleys waiting to be explored. Wind down in our inviting restaurant serving an array of dishes made from locally sourced produce. Perhaps a wee dram from the bar would suit; choose a whisky from one of the many local distilleries for which this area is famous for throughout the world. ... more   less
