Outdated rooms and amenities, a rude staff, and, to top it off, the last morning we were there they cut off the water! Clearly the place makes its money off of coach tours, as there is no effort to provide any but the most rudimentary level of service. For example, upon check-in we were told, "The parking lot is full,...

Booked on an Itison B&B deal. Friendly welcome and booking in by James at reception. Room 111 was a nice room similar to the one we had on our previous visit. This one was better, though. It was an upstairs room, so we did not have occupants above us treading on squeaky floorboards ;-) . Comfy quiet room overlooking car...

The hotel could do with updating their decor as its a little dated but this is overcome by the staff they are friendly, helpful and efficient. Only stayed here for one night as part of our tour, but wish we had booked more. Room and bathroom were clean/ comfy, food was good, staff were polite and friendly, busy bar but a great lounge for chilling out. Will go back.

Had 2 night B&B stay and was pleasantly surprised; bedroom very spacious, bathroom and shower superb, hall & storage facilities fine, breakfast very good even although feeding 3 coach parties at the same time. Yes, some areas of the hotel are dated but you can't refurbish the whole hotel at once. Equally, yes, wifi is dodgy (best to try in...

Would really like to thank Elaine and all the staff for the wedding reception we had for our son and his new bride. The food, decorations and service by the staff were first rate and all the guests were extremely impressed with the hotel as a wedding venue. Could not have wished for a better place for their special day.

From the moment we checked in, until the moment we checked out, we were impressed and would highly recommend this hotel! Spacious room with a traditional "homely" feel throughout the hotel. The food and service in the dining room was faultless..... Waiters were exceptional - presentation/professional/smiling and considerate. Reception check in/out was smooth. Really clean hotel and appears to attract...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
For true Highland hospitality come to the Highlander, a hotel renowned for its good food and warm welcome. The hotel is an ideal base for touring the North of Scotland with mountain ranges, forests, lochs and river valleys waiting to be explored. Wind down in our inviting restaurant serving an array of dishes made from locally sourced produce.
