When visiting this area of France, we usually stay in Julienas but this time Chez Rose was fully booked, so we had to find somewhere else to stay. Le Moulin de Saint Verand turned out to be a very nice surprise from the warm welcome when checking in to the nice rooms, the elegant dining area and the typical French...

We stayed just one night in this sweet little hotel so cutely situated and decorated. The owners and employees were extremely kind and helpful. And while we reserved late and only had a small room in the attic, it was charming. Highly suggest the rooms on floor 1 with such nice balconies. And of course the "roulettes" for families. We...

This hotel has big gardens and an attractive reception/dining area but the rooms are very tiny with tiny beds and a tiny bathroom with tiny towels. One of the smallest rooms we have ever stayed in. The restaurant was really disappointing. The only special available was a version of tripe so we ate off the a la carte menu which...

We've stayed here four times over the years. Until this trip, it had continued to improve. This time the mattresses were very firm and a good night's sleep in both rooms was impossible. The food was very disappointing the first night, and on the second night two courses out of three were inedible - it was shockingly overpriced for such...

Lovely hotel and great location - perfect rooms and a super breakfast. Warning do not bother to each in the restaurant. The standard of food was poor and very expensive - making our mid-range stop on the way to the piste an expensive error. I would definitely stay here again but eat elsewhere.

We stayed two nights for an early fall tour of Burgundy. The room was comfortable, if plain, and the public spaces were pleasant. The location is very convenient to Macon and other attractions, quiet and bucolic. We ate dinner both nights (there isn't anything else close by) and enjoyed different things each time. Good service, tasty food, and the other...

My wife and I and a friend visited this newly refurbished hotel in September and were impressed by the rooms but we should have guessed that we were in for trouble when they charged 4.80€ for a 25cl draught leffe where most hostelries were charging about 3.00€. The standard menu at 36.00€ was diabolical. My wifes salmon terrine was a...

We staid at this lovely hotel in August 2014 on our way to the South of France. There was really only one negative and that materialised before we got there ---- we found it very hard to find. There is no map on the web site other than a comment that it is only 10 mins from the autoroute exit...

We stayed in Moulin de Saint Verand this summer. It is well worth the visit, in a nice environment and also practical when heading south to the sea or Alps. Most importantly the rooms were clean, friendly staff, and excellent food. The local environment also has plenty to offer for those who prefer the countryside. For us it was a...

I visited the Moulin de Saint Verand in July, and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I rented one of the 'roulotts'; the carriages that have been converted into rooms. The bed was large and comfortable, and it also contained full bathroom and shower facilities. The restaurant offers a delicious menu which includes escargot, foie gras, veal, cheese, and a good selection...
