All staff of BRL is trained well and takes care of you with great attention to detail. Many remembered our names and even my preferred breakfast. The lodge is well kept, modern and convenient amidst the immense primary rain forest. Besides the facilities we most enjoyed our private tourguide Melvin, who is absolute ace. Being our private guide he completely accommodated our requests and timing, from early bird spotting hikes to late night night-walks In case you don't have experience with wildlife spotting in rainforest, due to the dense vegetation simply spotting any animal is a challenge, therefore a sharp and experienced guide is super important. He will know where approximately animals are likely to hang around and he hears their typical sounds way before spotting them.…
Lap of luxury in the middle of wilderness. Really grateful to have experienced the beautiful virgin forest and lodge is built in a sustainable manner blending into its environment respectfully. We were very well taken care of at the lodge, from arrival till departure. Food provided were plenty and the Malay food was fantastic. Our villa was spacious and beautiful, furnished with the best quality furnishings. Really comfortable stay and all of us agreed it was a thoroughly enjoyable stay at BRL.
Borneo Rainforest Lodge (BRL) was one of the many accommodations we stayed in whilst on a trip around Sabah, but it had noticeably better staff, who would consistently go the extra mile to make our holiday a fantastic one. It was also really well run. Most of the other places had a just-getting-back-into-it vibe after covid reopening, with quite a few things missing, or not working quite right. In contrast BRL seemed to run like friendly clockwork with everything just working seamlessly and (at least for us tourists) effortlessly. It meant we could just relax as we knew the BRL staff and management would just re-jig the itinerary when the realities of weather etc might have thrown other organisations into a non-coordinated fluster. The food was also really good. And the views…
The Borneo Rainforest Lodge is a remarkable property located 2.5 hours away from the nearest down. Deep in the jungle of Borneo. This is one of the last primal rainforests on earth. The lodge is highly luxurious while also built in a non evasive manner in the surroundings. The all inclusive meals are outstanding. Service is equally elegant and efficient. Our nature guide - Rudi - was deeply sincere and caring that we saw as much wildlife as possible.
My wife and I were fortunate to travel to this magnificent place recently. It is rare to experience classy and attentive service, the highest quality room, sumptuous food, a superb guide, exceptional staff and the most amazing environs in one package and in one place. But BRL has it all. Our Premium Deluxe room was up there with the best we have ever stayed in - we loved the openness of the room, the outdoor shower, the pool and a balcony that was abuzz with the noise of the rainforest all the time. Visits from the local monkeys, deer, and a first class vista from which to watch Orangutans in the trees across the river, are all seared into our memory. We went mainly to see the Hornbills and we were not disappointed. The sound of those majestic birds as they prepared to fly, and…
We stayed 3 amazing nights at the lodge and it was just perfect from start to finish. Our room overlooked the river and at night we were able to see Deer just outside our room. Abundance of bird life at every corner. Our guide for the entire stay was Farah, who was simply THE best. She went out of her way to show us as much nature as possible, so informative and enthusiastic, she certainly made our stay special. All the staff are very friendly and the food was of a good standard. The rooms and the lodge are beautiful, immaculate and spotless, very comfortable. I would highly recommend to stay here, keep up the good work Borneo Rainforest Lodge ❤️
This is a special place because it is located in primary rainforest that is more than 100 million years old and unspoiled by logging activity. We stayed 4D3N in a premium deluxe chalet and enjoyed it immensely. This type of room is very spacious and luxurious. It has a lovely view of river and rainforest that one can savour on the sizeable balcony which comes with a small plunge pool. Compared to the premium villas, the premium deluxe chalets have the advantage of being located nearer the main lodge building, where the dining area is located. We thought that the food served here was extraordinarily good. Overseen by Chef Roslan, who has a few decades of experience in the kitchens of the Shangri-La group, it comprised primarily Malaysian cuisine and every meal was consistently…
Stayed 4d /3 n with my wife & 2 daughters recently in this amazing resort recently. All the staffs from the driver ,the cooks, the guide ,,,,,to the management were excellent .They took the extra mile to make sure we enjoyed our stay.A huge bravo to Encik Sail & Ms Chin for their fantastic team and it is a good enough reason to come back .We had a very memorable time. The resort is beautiful and comfortable. The jungle was fascinating and the guide Rudi & even our driver Din manage to show us many animals.Rudi was very friendly, knowledgeable and accommodative & the jungle hikes/walks were very interesting.Lastly a special thank to Zila for making this trip possible & fantastic.
My daughter and I stayed here April 2019, I have been extremely unwell and forgot to do a review so sincere apologies. We stayed in one of the rooms overlooking the river with aircon (which you have to request, not all rooms have aircon) and plunge pool. All I can say is just wow, tranquil, beautiful & healing. Food top class, clean, staff can’t do enough for you , and wardens who take you out to see the wildlife total amazing we even got to see a male wild orangutans looking for a female. You can go on other paid trips to see the sunrise, highly recommended. All I can say is we wanted more time here. Thank you so much🥰🙏🏽
We absolutely loved our stay here, really enjoying the sense of remoteness and the novelty of being right in the thick of the jungle. It does take a while to get there but totally worth it when you are met with a delightful lodge, luxurious accommodation, excellent service (including spa) and delicious, high quality food! We were very impressed with this resort and would thoroughly recommend; it is a special place to experience. The activities on offer were great and we enthusiastically participated in everything! We particularly enjoyed the jungle trek, learning a lot about the jungle habitat and getting some fab photos. Our guide was very informative but did seem a little inexperienced, for example he didn’t seem to be too keen on working with the other guides to increase…
