Stay was excellent. Staff were very accomodating and friendly. Meals just need a bit more variety and can there be a lunch buffet.Beautiful and serene environment.Would love to visit again. Covered pool would be great.

The place was not family friendly, first day we had to share one room with our 2 kids aged 11 and 8 Second day we were given a second room far away from each other. The place is not for families, you cant have 4 people in one room or be put where your kids cannot be supervised. The breakfast...

Hi Unfortunately we do not have Family room, How ever if your booking was made early, then I am sure the reservation staff would have accommodated you in the Rose Cottages.. They are 3 rooms next to each other and are child friendly. The lodge must have been full if your rooms were split. Regards Dave O'Halloran

Recently sent a great 2 days visiting the Anglo Zulu War and Anglo Boer War Battlefields IN KZN South Africa. Stayed overnight at The Battlefields Country Lodge in Dundee. Perfect location and very comfortable with nice friendly staff. Excellent prices - £42.00 for dinner bed and breakfast. Recommended.

Battlefields Country Lodge provides an excellent location to visit Battlefields. It is very easy to find thr key sites from the Guest house. We found the services very good and felt safe during our stay. The personnel was polite and friendly and all the basic service were available. Parking facilities were safe and we even got our car washed.

An ok hotel with plenty of things to do. We found it a functional hotel which was average in terms of quality of facilities and service too. If however you're looking for sporting facilities then this would be terrific.

Battlefields lodge is the most unorganized and disappointing getaway we have ever experienced in 40 years. My friends and I came down to a bowls tournament in Dundee in November 2016 and were told that Battlefields Lodge was the ideal location to stay at while taking part in the tournament. We paid for our accommodation in full on July 8th 2016 four...

The location is very scenic with a lake and wedding chapel, and herds of game in the adjacent field. But the accommodation blocks are functional and meals are basic. Breakfast, packed lunch and dinner were the worst of our tour. There was a large wedding reception during our stay but very few people staying in the hotel.

The hotel was OK. The rooms were located in two large blocks with the restaurant in a separate building. The rooms were large with self-catering facilities if required - there was a microwave and refrigerator in the room. Dining was buffet style with large tables. The food was very average. There are two good features about the Battlefields Country Lodge....

Stayed here as it is apparently offers less travelling time than other accommodation when visiting the Zulu battlefields including Rourke's drift. It is in the middle of nowhere and reminds me of a Butlins camp - two main accommodation buildings with the dining room in a separate building. The rooms also offer self catering so have a fridge and microwave...
