We stayed as a family here over new year and were very well looked after. Excellent food and the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Highly recommend if you want to experience true Tanzanian hospitality with a dash of luxury.

My family went to Mkoma Bay for six days with family friends. We all had the most amazing time. We shared the Swahili House. It was a perfect set up for our families. It was located right by the pool and beach. The beach was beautiful and private. In fact, it was just us on the beach 95% of the...

Mkoma is a little paradise that is on a cliff that overlooks and has access to one of the best beaches I've seen in Tanzania. The rooms are beautiful and very comfortable and the service at Mkoma is spectacular. The food is delicious. I have zero complaints about this place and I would highly recommend it.

This is a very special place, a little off-the-beaten track and worth the journey. A beautiful beach, with almost no-one on it (though its fun to watch the few fishermen in the bay in the afternoon); great pool; very good food; and high quality tents and cottages. Nick the owner is organized and constantly making improvements. The local staff are...

Mkoma Bay Tented Lodge was the perfect venue for my weekend get away! Upon my arrival I was offered a refreshing glass of passion fruit juice and a scented towel, which was exactly what I needed after a long drive. The staff proceeded to show me to my tent which had a private little patio. It was beautifully decorated with...

We have stayed at many beach resorts both on Zanzibar and the Pangani coast and for us, Mkoma Bay is by far the best as it has characteristics that money can't buy. For a start, sleeping in a comfortable safari tent lets you be far closer to nature and allows the beautiful environment to seep into your soul. The gardens...

A wonderful oasis on the Tanzanian coast. The hotel/lodge enclave overlooks an empty beach and a warm sea. The owner Nick couldn't be friendlier or more helpful, from (in our case) meeting us at the tiny local runway with a cold drink and a flannel to wipe off the travelling grime to checking throughout our stay that we had everything...

My husband and I recently spent six nights at Mkoma Bay Tented Lodge and it was just perfect! It is beautifully situated above a gorgeous, quiet, and private stretch of sandy beach. The grounds are lovely and the amenities are just what you need for a very relaxing stay. Come prepared to chill out and rest and re-center yourself. We...

We had a wonderful stay at Mkoma Bay during Christmas. The Swahili house was so nice, especially the huge veranda was amazing. Lisa, Ulrik and the rest of the staff were helpful and made it a perfect stay from first minute. What we remember the most is the long pristine beach, it was absolutely fantastic. The boat trip out to...

Very good experience. What a paradise! Deserted beach, amazing service, amazing food, clean pool, attention to detail in everything... Kids friendly, too... If it hadn't been so hot and sticky and so popular with mosquitoes and other warrior ants, we'd have stayed forever!
