This is a tent camp with a few family bandas, located an easy walk from the boat and ferry landings. We stayed in a family banda, which has two rooms with twin beds, parlor, and bath. The banda is not fancy, but tightly screened with solid walls. As four adults, we did fine, although I felt the mattress had gone... More

Dear Paul T Thanks so much for the really detailed feedback. Sometimes when we have heavy rain up there, it does seep under the floor in that family banda...apologies for that. I think we'll put a ledge on the outside that will stop it happening in the future...although I hope people won't trip up over it on their way in/out?!... More

Though mostly a tent camp, as a family of four adults we were placed in a self-contained cabin. Mattresses were a bit soft, but the facilities met our needs. We were warned that we could encounter hippo or warthogs at night. I met a warthog on my way to dinner! Management has obviously taken care of making the camp welcoming... More

Absolutely beautiful views with wonderful dining/bar/lounge area overlooking a vast wilderness. Warthogs and baboons wander round in the mornings. Bandas clean and roomy. The staff there were extremely efficient and helpful but seemed to be run by their Kampala branch and we were made to move from one banda to the one next door as Kampala had arranged this, what... Dear Jessica J Thanks very much for taking the time to review Red Chilli. Our branch in Kampala does take all the bookings as deposits are required in order to secure accommodation. I am sorry you had to vacate your banda but yours had been pre-booked and paid for by someone else. We do actually have a couple of local... More

I would recommend if travelling on a budget as most accomodation that side is priced extravagantly.Stayed there with agroup of friends in their furnished tents.I was impressed with the staff who were very friendly and hospitable and never got tired of our endless requests which seemed the opposite when it came to most pipo we met.The place is really clean... Stayed here one night in between the Hippos. Bring along a flashlight and get a cabana as the tents are too close together. Rustic but nice No wifi. Cold beer and decent simple meals in restaurant. Be sure to order breakfast before 8pm the night before

The camp is located inside the Murchison National park - 5 minutes away from the ferry. The place is cozy and nice, rooms are clean Electricity cuts out at 11 PM to save energy The water was really weak and we hardly got a shower Food is really good

Dear Haidi-Mikhail Many thanks for your feedback on Red Chilli! Sorry to hear the water pressure was so weak during your stay - as we are without underground water within our camp, we are unfortunately reliant on Uganda Wildlife Authority and their sometimes erratic borehole pumping! So glad you enjoyed the camp otherwise though! Best regards Debbie More

We stayed at Red Chillis's for 2 nights and we enjoyed it a lot! Everything was clean, friendly & helpful staff and great view! In the evening a hippo visited the camp and grazed in the area for the whole night :-) we would recommend this spot to our friends!

This trip is a must-do for anybody visiting Uganda for the first time, but our experience with the Red Chilli staff was less than stellar. This place is great value for money, especially in Murchison Falls where a lot of the other options are pretty pricey. It's probably best to think of this place as camping with a lot of bonuses in order to manage expectations!
