Walking through the streets next to Unawatuna Beach we pass a few nice places to stay. Nearing the end of the main street across the road from Kingfisher Hotel (fancy hotel) there is a gate and driveway with a sign "Brinkwater Guest House" I peer at my girlfriend and sigh. At the end of the driveway an elderly couple greet...

We stayed here for 4 nights in a double room with fan. It was very cheap by comparison to other places we looked at and included Sri Lankan breakfast every morning which was delicious. Location-wise it was very central and in walking distance to the beach. Wifi didn't work very well and would have been nice if our room was...

Brinkhouse is a very good place to stay. It has nice rooms (from simply to luxury) with correct prices, it is next to the sea (just cross the small street and you are in a part of the see where you can swim safe : the bay on the right side), it is next to the forest to have a...

I was there with a group of 14 people in November 2015. We had 7 rooms Upper rooms are good with AC an hot showers. Rooms downstairs are more basic with just a fun, but still OK. We could sit on veranda’s/balconies during the frequent rain. Place is just 50m away from beach and restaurants. We had our return flight...

We was in the best room (and the most expensive) at the top of the guesthouse. In the middle of canopy, among the monkeys, peacocks, tropical birds and squirels, its beautifull. Bedroom is fine, air conditionning and fridge works very correctly (only the mosquito net is not very good). Sri Lankan breakfasts every morning are delicious.

This was our second time staying here and we were really looking forward to going back but unfortunately over the past year it seems to have gone downhill. I know the weather was very unseasonal (wet) but the room was dinghy, damp and mouldy - even my clothes were mouldy by the end of two weeks! Breakfast served on our...

After seeing shining reviews we booked into brinkhouse for 4 nights. The rooms looked nice in the pictures and everybody seemed to be raving about the place. When we arrived however, the reality was very different. It seems the budget rooms on the ground floor don't feature in the pictures... Our room was dingy, damp and mouldy. We had a...

Nice private rooms with a terrace to a garden with monkeys and squirrels. The owner speaks english quite well and is able to advise you in your further travelling. Very rich breakfasts and friendly atmosphere. The owners wife brings every evening a fragnant stick against mosquitos to your terrace.

We stayed on the 2nd floor in a clean room with a big terrace that you could see monkeys. The service is awesome and the owners are very sympathetic. The location is very convenient and very close to the beach. Definitely recommended. Flora

Brinkhouse and Unawatuna was our first stop in Lanka, and how we we loved it. The B&B is quite simple, but clean and everything works. We had a room on the second floor with a great big terrace where you could watch monkeys and birds and hear jungle sounds :) The best thing about Brinkhouse though, is the fantastic hospitality...
