Beso del Viento is a charming hotel located on the beach of Palo Seco Island. Fauna and flora are exceptional as the hotel is on a peninsula between the Pacific ocean and mangrove. Pool is surrounded by coconut palms in a beautiful tropical garden. Oasis of tranquillity and charm close to many activities. For the diner, French food to enjoy.
Star ratings are intended to indicate the general level of features, amenities, and services to expect. This property is classified according to Giata.
This boutique hotel has limited guest rooms for a peaceful, quiet stay about 3 hours southwest of San Jose. The owners are charming and considerate - a French couple conversant in English and Spanish, as well as other languages. A delicious breakfast is included with fresh fruit and juices, toast and eggs made to order. The hotel is across the street from a deserted beach, so walk over to enjoy the day on the sand - and don't forget about the spectacular sunsets over the Pacific Ocean! You'll want a car to explore the neighborhood - 30 min to Manuel Antonio National Park and the lively town of Quepos, local restaurants and beaches.

We spent 3 fabulous nights at Beso del Viento. I had high expectations going in based on great reviews, but the ambiance and originality of the place exceeded my expectations. The grounds are gorgeous and in perfect condition. Every morning as we walked from our room to eat our elegant breakfast, we saw workers maintaining the grounds and cleaning inside. The decor is extremely original and witty, not the generic grey and white boho look seen everywhere these days. It’s got a French flair with a Costa Rican twist. I just loved it. We also enjoyed Bernard’s amazing food at breakfast each morning and for a special romantic dinner one night. And, I can’t leave out the gorgeous untainted beach right across the street. We walked for ages and saw only one other person, fishing. Dreamy! If you are looking for a beautiful place to relax and enjoy a quiet getaway in Costa Rica, book a stay at Beso!

Beso Del Viento is a place of tranquility and beauty. We were Three couples staying Four nights in this Nine rooms hotel that managed by the owners, Bernard and Elizabeth, from France. Two people how are very kind, helpful and fantastic hosts, that bring the French cuisine to this remote place in Costa Rica. We ate breakfast and three dinners in the hotel, and all were fantastic and very tasty, hence,French cuisine. We spent our days in the lovely pool surrounded by a well manicured garden, walking in the secluded, black sand beach and off course, swimming in the warm Pacific Ocean ( there are no beach umbrellas or chairs provided by the hotel). Manuel Antonio park is only 45 minutes away from the hotel and there is a lovely restaurant, a short distance from the hotel, for lunch or dinners. Bernard, Elizabeth and their staff were working long hours every day , but always found time to talk, give advice and share from their experiences. Thank you again for making our stay with you, so memorable.

Due to the (good) reviews we have booked 2 nights here. We saw, reviews here were probably very imaginative, because the reality was different... The facility did not make a good impression on us. The pool is old, the lush gravel bed around it is horrific. The loungers, however, are new. The entire buildings are probably decades old and are spared with all kinds of instructions in plastic cards to the guests instead of modernized. We had booked a relatively large room without air conditioning on the ground floor, unfortunately. The beds were good, the room clean. BUT: the sanitary equipment of the mini bath is still as it was decades ago and worst: the "suicide heating" in the shower according to the ancient standard was already defective when it moved in. That was it with warm water... When asked about this, we experienced wordy apologies from the owner, but despite available alternative free room it remained so...You probably wanted to save. This reduced the mood considerably. Breakfast: a small carpachio of tasteless fruits, also toasted white bread of inferior quality and industrial eggs that are also presumably prepared. Rarely experienced such a loveless breakfast in the country. Even the tea was an imposition. And that with French people! Well, all in all, the owners probably also lack one important quality: the love for guests and the proximity to hostels. We felt more like a troublemaker or a necessary evil and last but not least: the normal room rate (138 USD) on the sign is a bad joke. And also $109 (current offer) is completely overdone. Unless you accept things as a tourist because you usually stay in the youth camp. You should rather spend a little more money prudently if you choose this corner, which unfortunately offers few accommodations. We have been in the country for more than 15 years and can therefore already assess whether an owner-managed company is seriously dedicated to the issue or rather is serving time. In this case, a repeat visit is excluded.

The hotel is beautifully designed in a French style, my room had air conditioning and a fan, everything was clean and you could take a warm shower. The breakfast was also good with fruit, eggs, toast with butter, jam and coffee. The beach is a 2-minute walk away. I found the strict house rules negative, that you can only walk barefoot on the upper floor (very annoying if you just want to get something from your room) and that there is a 10 p.m. curfew, you can no longer sit anywhere with people, the front door is locked and you have to go to your room and be quiet. It's like a youth hostel when I was 13. The owners have created a beautiful facility, but there is a lack of hospitality, I didn't feel welcome but rather a nuisance in this house. And I'm curious to hear the hosts' comments, because the comments on critical reviews are really worth reading, because they like to insult their guests and portray them as idiots who are unable to properly study the information on their website. I think that's a real shame and pathetic. Such a beautiful facility, but I wouldn't come here again.

We only asked about a room. The extremely neutral, not to say unfriendly, French owner offered us two small rooms at a completely inflated price. She also said that we would be locking the house at 10pm and no one would be allowed in. Worse than a youth hostel. We then went next door to the Cocomar and got a great, large room with air conditioning and a fridge for 40 percent cheaper.

We were looking forward to a relaxing stay right by the beach, as written in the hotel description, but in the end we immediately canceled the stay upon arrival. The hotel is located at the end of the urban development in a very depressing environment with a ramshackle large building right next door. The beach is untidy, swimming in the sea is not very pleasant. No sunbeds, no umbrellas, scorching sun. The rooms are very small. Pool dirty, fine black sand or dust everywhere. The staff was very unpleasant, we even had to take off our shoes to be allowed into the first floor of the hotel in the main building. In the city I wasn't sure if I was really in Costa Rica. This is not the Costa Rica you want to enjoy. So we didn't sleep a single night in the hotel.

The Beso Del Viento is a gem of a bed & breakfast run by a charming French couple, Elizabeth and Bernard. Assisted by their dog Lulu The food is delicious, beyond expectations. The breakfast was, delicious and dinner was perfection. I was thrilled with it!
The location, in Perrita, on Playa Palo Seco, is pristine. The beach, which is just outside the front gate, extends for what seems like miles in each direction. It is magnificently isolated.
The grounds of the B&B are immaculate; the couple has planted large exotic shade trees that seem to be standing on their roots. These are home to iguanas, bats, and other creatures.
I cannot close without mentioning the fun, whimsical decor of the establishment. There are fish and sea motifs throughout the grounds.
All the splendor of Costa Rica's landscape is in beautiful harmony. I consider myself blessed to have found this little place of tranquility.

In the middle of a difficult time such as a pandemic, we found a beautiful spot at Palo Seco beach, where we spent three relaxing days. El Beso del Viento is owned by French couple, Bernard and Elizabeth, who go out of their way to make you feel welcome in their charming hotel. The rooms are confortable, clean and full of decor details that I loved. The pool area is lovely, the beach is right across the street, and it extends for miles. Continental breakfast is included; we also had dinner one night and it was superb. Bernard is an amazing cook! If you want a place where you can soothe your soul, experience nature and great hospitality, look no further than Beso del Viento.

This quiet, tucked away bed and breakfast is a true gem! The owners are French, very kind and friendly and run a wonderful little hotel. The space is sparkling clean, the grounds, the rooms, the open-air kitchen, is all spotless. There are gorgeous trees, plentiful flowers, and amazing wildlife including white faced monkeys, large iguanas, scarlet macaws, and other beautiful birds to be seen right on the property. The pool is not huge but lovely and surrounded by comfortable chaise lounges with cushions and umbrellas and the beach is directly across the street. If you are looking for a relaxing, quiet getaway this is definitely your spot! If you appreciate quality food that is delicious and fresh, you will be in Heaven! I highly recommend booking dinner while you are there, the chef makes something different every day including freshly baked delicious bread. It is very authentic French cuisine and absolutely wonderful. They also serve great French wine, truly the best meals I have ever had in this country, on any visit. This is NOT a party spot. The gates lock at ten so if you are looking for an all night party spot, this is definitely not it. If you are looking for a beautiful home base from which to explore the beauty of Costa Rica though, you will be hard pressed to find anything better!

Hola Katrinka,
The weather is wonderful at the end of January, very sunny, quite hot too !!! Sunset are georgous every day. I think you will find some changes in Parrita but it's always a little peace of paradise especialy Palo Seco beach.
Best regards.
Elisabeth , owner of Beso del Viento
Hola, I'm Elisabeth , owner of Beso del Viento, it's easy to take a taxi from here to Parrita, which is a little town with banks, grocery, pharmacy, all the essentials thinks, a ride to Parrita is $10.
There is no public transportation from Parrita to the beach. But there is public transportation from Parrita to Manuel Antonio Natinal Park.
If you want to relax in a very quiet place, love fine french food at night, only on previous reservation, this is your place.
There are another options to get lunch or dinnner at night and it's true that it's easier with a car.
For lunch or dinner, there is a place at 800 metersof Beso del Viento if you like to walk on the beach.
I want to thank Mylene A for the information she provides you.
Best regards.
Elisabeth
