The Rooms are very clean, the people are nice and all the facility's you need are there. Like air conditioning, soap, good beds, television etc. We only staid for 1 night, but I was happy to be here! Only the shower was not so good. It wasn't warm en the beam was not so hard. But overall a good place to stay.

This small lodging is perfect if you want something comfortable and very inexpensive. The proprietors are very nice and English is spoken. Rooms are small, but include wifi and television. Each room is ensuite and the cabana is a nice place to lounge and read a book. The town of Parrita is half way between more chaotic JacĂł and Manuel Antonio, yet a quick drive to deserted beaches, perfect for strolling as the sun sets. In addition Chispo, the adorable and friendly dog will keep you company during your down time. Also, how many hotels have their own caiman?

We stayed at the Cabinas El Sueno on our way to Golfito. The owner Mauricio and his wife Yerlin are wonderful hosts! The moment we arrived they welcomed us with open arms and we had lots of great conversations about Costa Rica and the area of Parrita. They have a stunning garden with lots ot tropical flowers and wild animals - no really wild animals, they even have a cayman in the little river behind their house. We saw all the animals we wanted to see in their garden!! You can see how much love and effort they have put into their property.

The rooms had everything we needed - even A/C, which was more than we asked for.

For breakfast we had some toast with jelly and fresh cut mango. What a wonderful way to start of your day.

Mauricio and Yerlin were such great hosts, that we actually decided to stay another night on returning trip to San Jose. We will never forget the days spent at Cabinas El Sueno and hope to come back in the future.

This is an excellent example of a typical small family run hotel at a great value. It was reminiscent of the small family run motels that are quickly disappearing in the US. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable with a TV and A/C. They also serve a small continental breakfast in the morning and allow you to use the open air kitchen area in the Rancho to cook, if you like. The owner, Mauricio, has a g arden with different tropical fruits growing and gave us a tour. He speaks Spanish and English, and also owns a school that teaches both Spanish to visitors and English to Costa Ricans. We had our 3 grandchildren with us and they were very nice to them.
The hotel is located just outside of the town of Parrita, between the towns of Jaco and Quepos (Parque Manuel Antonio). The famous Manuel Antonio Park is only about 12 miles to the south.
To get there, you follow the main road from Jaco to Quepos. Watch for the hotel driveway on the right, after you pass the turn off for Playa Bandera. The hotel is about 100 meters down the driveway. There is a small sign on the road which is easy to miss if you are driving fast, like I was. If you end up in the center of town, you've gone to far.
