We stayed a couple of nights here. It was walkable to the center of town, high up so great views. The outside space is very arty and classy and the inside was also tasteful. The price was also excellent. The staff was incredibly attendant for such an inexpensive place. We would definitely come back!

The best thing about this hotel is the restaurant run by the whole family, it seems but mama does beautiful fish and the waiter is so friendly. The room were basic but comfortable but the bathroom could do with a rewamp. It is a very friendly place where people talk to each other. We were there at the beginning of...

Room dirty & unsafe (uncovered electricity cables coming out from the wall, water coming down from the roof). A lot of noise coming from other rooms for all the night. We spent a night and we don't reccomend it at all.

Me and some friends just had dinner in the "el sueño" and we loved it! It was delicious and with great service. Some of us chose the plate of the day, one had the "casado". The portion was just perfect and the fruit juce yummy. We cannot say anything about the hotel but the restaurant is absolutely recommendable.

Great little hotel in the center of downtown Santa Elena. Clean rooms, friendly staff and great included breakfast! (8 options with English translation available). Only con was the view - our room only had view of interior hallway, but the clean rooms, hot shower and comfortable bed made up for it! There are also a few fun chill-out areas on...

It's quite difficult reviewing very basic, budget hotels as you end up having conflicting expectations: you want a cheap deal, but then perhaps expect too much... We opted for this hotel after reading a review in Lonely Planet. This hotel is run by a tico family who seemed friendly. The lady on reception didnt speak much English but this didn't...

We were travelling with a group of students and while one of the students was showering, the showerhead caught fire and filled the bathroom with smoke and then the room with smoke. No smoke detectors or alarms went off in the room or in the halls. Once the front desk was advised, they instructed us to time the water use...

Stayed here on a two day excursion to the Monteverde Cloud Forest. The facility is a bit rustic but is quite good for the area. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast, which was included, had a number of options including eggs, pancakes, rice and beans, as well as a variety of fruits and juice. They serve very...

The eating/kitchen and reception areas are surrounded by the rooms, all with their outside private entrances. Three new rooms have been recently built at the back of the property.
