Well-situated little hotel a two minute walk from the downtown/restaurant hub for all of Monteverde and Saint Elena. About nine rooms, and those closer to the street will experience some noise in daytime but after dark, most traffic in or out of town pretty much stops. And this quaint and comfy little hotel is on the road in/out. I'm surprised... More

This 'hotel' has a few rooms, so not large. It is super clean, and provides breakfast for guests. The breakfast is of good quality, served cheerfully, and there was variation from day to day. We had Eggs/Toast/Plantains one day, then Eggs/Sausage/Waffles the next, etc. Each day a medium serving of fresh fruit accompanied breakfast. The rooms here are not huge,... More

This was our favorite hotel of the three we visited in our trip. From the outside it looks very modest, but inside it is modern, clean, and very comfortable. It is a 5-10 minute walk to the restaurants and amenities of Santa Elena, a compact but convenient and complete base for restaurants, stores, banks, and other services. The hotel is... More

I have to be honest from the beginning before i tell you the many good parts about this place: If you aren't a heavy sleeper or you don't have earplugs with you, then don't stay here because the walls that separate the rooms are thin as paper and you can literally hear EVERY SINGLE WORD your neighbours are saying. This... More

The hotel is run by a very nice family, very friendly and always in a good mood. The breakfast is served with fruits and meanwhile you can watch coatis and monkeys outside. The rooms are clean and you get fresh towels every day.

The hotel is clean and nicely decorated as a wood cabin and has some great views over the forest and valley. We also got to see some local wildlife as monkeys and raccoons came to the hotel while we were having breakfast one morning. It is situated just outside the village of Santa Elena, and is a 5-10 min walk... More

We visited las orquideas after a stay in a hostel in arenal where we needed a clean, relaxed place to stay to recharge. Here, we got just that. Rooms are spotless, location is fantastic for the cloud forest, night walks, pony tours and dining in Santa Elena, and breakfast is scrumptious. Great value and very welcoming host. Also don't miss... More

I traveled to Santa Elena, Monteverde with 3 german friends and we stayed in a great room in Las Orquideas. Nidia is a very friendly and kind person and we really enjoyed our stay at her hotel. Also the rest of the staff was very friendly. They have a mirador in the back of the hotel from where you have... More

The room are big, comftoble for family, but sits on the main road and there is noise from the cars. The owner is not so nice. The hotel is a bit expensive for what you get. The are monkeys outside of the room.

Really the hotel is a reflection of the proprietor, Nidia, who makes you feel at home during your stay. Great lady. The ladies who cooked breakfast and cleaned were also very friendly and nice to us. The only negative for us was the size of the room which felt a little cramped. However, we would stay there again and would... More
