Firstly I will start with the only good things about the accommodation. The breakfast and the wifi is reasonable. Also warm water sometimes. Pretty much this is a 1970 style wooden house and not much has been done to the building since then. The kitchen is small and the same with the rooms. Two beds (the single like a rock) and not much room...

Nice little hostel with a really friendly and relaxed atmosphere. I'd definitely recommend booking ahead as it's not a huge place and seemed to be full most nights we were there. Good breakfast included. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Monteverde

Very nice place, lots of activities offered, nice home, very good breakfasts. The rooms are not of extreme comfort but are large enough. It feels really good. Perfect! If one day we return to Costa-Rica we will return directly to Casa Tranquilo!

Stayed in the dorms for two nights. One of the worst hostels I have been to during my 4 weeks backpacking costa rica, likely the worst. Pros: -Large complimentary breakfast -thats it Cons: - structural decay of stairs, walls, floor (you can see into the kitchen below) -Generally not clean, there are spider webs and dead insects everywhere. -Rude and...

I stayed at Casa Tranquilo in Santa Elena for two nights and the hostel turned out to be one of the best on my trip to Costa Rica. The dorm was spacious with comfy beds and - I seldom experienced that - a decent hot shower. The free breakfast was amazing as was the host. He helped with booking tours...

At first glance this seems quite basic but the double rooms are good and the staff are very friendly and really helpful. The kitchen needs a little attention perhaps but we really enjoyed staying here. Thank you.

I can't say enough great things about this place! I've been traveling all around the world this year and this was by far one of the best places I've stayed! The rooms were great, bathrooms and showers clean, the kitchen was well equipped, and the staff were excellent! They were extremely helpful with figuring out our plans while in Monteverde,...

We really liked the hostel. The room was really comfortable and warm. The kitchen was well equipped with sharp knives which were much appreciated. The staff were fantastic, very helpful and assisted us both in booking tours and with our onward travel, making everything very easy. The only slight negative was when a rat launched itself from the shelf in...

The hostel is really close to the city center of Santa Elena and close to a supermarket. Positive: you can book all kind of activities with the hostel (zip lining, hikes, night walks,...) and those were good and fun. Unfortunately the hostel itself is medium clean and it seems that the dorm is a little bit abandoned and not that...

I spent 3 nights here. The hostel looks great on the outside and its very clean on the inside. The staff were friendly and chilled, very helpful and often cooked with the guests in the evenings demonstrating cheap, easy and traditional CR/ Central American foods. I was able to get loads if information on activities and places to eat out...
