This is a great hotel for many reasons. It is next to a natural wildlife corridor which means many types of animal pass by in close proximity to the hotel. The hotel offers night hikes right on the property. The property is also very close to the original canopy tour, a tour perfect for families with young kids. It is...

Enjoyed our stay, did not expect luxury but we were pleased with what was on offer. Walked some of the nature trails and saw some amazing birds and even the flying turkeys. Staff at reception and restaurant were friendly and helpful. Had dinner one night and were the only guests eating in that night. Steak was cooked to perfection!

The highlight of staying here is that from the main lodge balcony you can see hummingbirds, agoutis, coatis and much much more doing their thing in the gardens, which is pretty wonderful and an easy and relaxing way to watch wildlife. The location is also extremely green and peaceful as the lodge is set in large grounds, with trails to...

We stayed at this hotel for two nights. It was a very rustic experience since it is located literally in the forest and the road up was unpaved and kind of steep. We had a cabin that was very basic. There was no television or phone but the reception area was really close. We had lunch when we finally got...

We had mixed feelings about this hotel. The cabins were very clean, the bedding comfortable, the bathroom large and well lit. No TV or phone in the room, but we were above the office and had good wifi. The property was lovely and had several hiking trails which we enjoyed, and lots of wildlife to view. We also liked being...

You can feel and hear the cloud forest at any time... Incredible surroundings, clean, comfortable, good breakfast and lovely staff. We have been super lucky to go find this place, it was the perfect location! Since the life is in the middle of the forest it takes a little bit to get there but with a 4x4 anything is reachable...

The Monteverde Cloud Forest Lodge, when we were there in February 2015, was literally in the clouds at times. We stood on our porch and watched the clouds swirl around us. Through the night we heard water dropping on the roof of our cabin. If you want to experience the Cloud Forest at Monteverde, staying at this Lodge is an...

I spent 2 lovely days/nights in the rustic cabins at Monteverde. The cabins are very basic but spacious and very comfortable; the property has several trails and the options of canopy trips. Breakfast has 3 choices (continental, Tico and American) and served in the restaurant with view of hummingbirds, mot-mot and olingos. Staff very friendly and you can book tours...

The staff was super friendly and welcoming at this lodge. They always made a point to show us interesting animals and birds that were around the lodge. They also set up any activities and called taxis as needed. A taxi to town was about $6. Breakfast was included and was good. Dinner was good but expensive in the restaurant. We...

We (I) have stayed here often over the years, including on our honeymoon eight years ago. Staying here is always the highlight of our trips. Food is great, hospitality is the best. We appreciate that it is a bit off the grid (not bad), just tucked back in the cloud forest, which we value. Wilberth the GM is simply the...
