The place was neat and showers were OK. The breakfast was simple and local but we loved it. Especially we loved the host lady Thaise, she was...

The Historias Lodge is located a steep descent walk into the main part of town or a quick taxi ride. The hotel layout is interesting and our room was pleasant and had a tv, safe and fridge. The bathroom was a good size and the hot water worked really well. We did not have the breakfast but it is available...

Our second floor room was dark and dingy and small, window onto public balcony. Sheets crumpled but appeared clean. Only one key so partner ended up locked out of front gate one night and had to rouse a downstairs guest to be let in as reception not manned after 9pm. Also not manned early in morning which led to hassle...

No bar or restaurant, apparently breakfast ok, book the night before. Enormous rooms, with safe, shower and TV. Very friendly staff. Very attractive gardens. In clouds, wet and windy. Local supermarkets and bars. Local bakery good for coffee and light breakfst. At top of massive hill, but taxi $2 each way. Town has three bars. Not cheap and open from...

My room was very, very clean and had an awesome hot shower with great water pressure. The staff were friendly and helpful and it was a good place to stay. It was a bit of a walk from the downtown area, but that is most of monteverde, so not abig deal.

My husband and I enjoyed a brief but pleasant stay at Historias Lodge. The value for the money was perfect- clean rooms with screens on the windows to prevent bugs from entering, large spacious bathrooms, strong wifi and hearty quickly-prepared breakfasts. Thais, the manager, was the real gem of this place as she went out of her way to organize...
