Our family couldn't have asked for a better first few nights if our trip to Austria and Germany. Hotel is 3-blocks from Stubaital Valley bus stop (going to Stubaital Gketscher and Innsbruck Hofbahnhof). Great room - well-appointed and spacious with comfy bed and good shower. Restaurant was wonderful, too. Germanic specialties gracefully presented. Decent portion-size. Affordable beverages and attentive service. Menus in both Germany and English with allergens listed (so thoughtful). About 30-minutes up valley to glacier through 8-or so towns. Equidistant time to Innsbruck train station. Easy to bring luggage without needing a car (we travelled the weeklong trip using Eurail pass). Our reservation included the Happy StubaiCard - what a fantastic deal! It included bus transportation and admission to many attractions. In two days time, we used it to cover $120 worth of travel/admissions. Truly one of our family's vacation highlights!…
Voila, that's how I remember it - just another hotel. The hotel is a bit far from the centre of the town and is several hundred meters from the (ski)bus stop. Neustift centre is around 3 km, so around 40 min walk from the hotel, if you have no car not really reachable. I stayed in the double room for single use and the room was very big and comfortable. The decoration is at least 10-15 years old, but is still very fine. The room had a big cupboard, a separate little table with benches, lots of space around the bed (carpeted floor) and a great terrace. The bathroom was also quite big, just the shower was not too comfortable and could be fixed/replaced. The old and not inspiring hairdryer worked better than it looked. The wellness is quite big and was crowded only one evening out of 3. It has two saunas, a Turkish bath and a swimming pool. A big resting area and herbal tea. Unfortunately, no jacuzzi! I heard rumours that the swimming pool should be making bubbles, but it wasn't, anyway it would not replace jacuzzi, because the water in the pool is not warm. Breakfast was very good! It had some delicious fresh local products (natural yoghurt, seeds and nuts to put inside, several types of bread and cheeses, croissants etc.etc.). I didn't dare to try the coffee though, it was one of those chemical wonders. The sad thing is that officially breakfast starts at 7:30, while all of the people there came for skiing and needed to leave the hotel at around 7:00-7:15 (more than 15 km to reach the lifts and lots of traffic!). It's great that they made a compromise and agreed to start serving breakfast at 6:45, still it's later than most of us would have wanted. I think hotels catering for the glacier should adapt their hours accordingly. Dinners were acceptable, but not a treat. An annoying thing that all the extras had to be paid in cash and immediately - water, wine, coffee etc. Also, they would keep your wine for the next day, but not the water (of course, you can take it with you, but if you forget, the bottle, even full, is thrown away). I think a little effort could be made to avoid these things (both for payments and keeping your water bottles). Staff was generally nice and atmospehere simple and cosy. The hotel has lots of spaces for common use, so also after check-out it is easy to find a place for changing and organizing before leaving. All in all, maybe not a paradise, but a comfortable place to stay. …
As I walked into the room,I must say I wasn't impressed at all. There is no double bed, only a twin put together. Furniture looked old and used, not well maintained. location is next to the main road which helps. Breakfast is normal, nothing exciting nor is dinner ,there's a great restaurant down the road. Sorry, forgot the name.Ask around, they are famous.
Comfortable rooms (balcony view) and bath (should put safe in rooms), excellent wellness, very good location for access to Stubai glacier and Schlick 2000. Breakfast 5*, diner good, clean hotel, very helpful staff. Internet access a little restricted (when you have a laptop, a tablet and a mobile you get just one access)
We are a family of five and we stayed at the Burgstall Hotel from 21 December 2013 to 4 January 2014. Our family apartment was very spacious, and it had its own balcony. Everything was spotless in the room. The hotel's swimming pool and spa were beautiful and clean. Their breakfasts and dinners were fantastic. We were really treated to the best food and ate like kings. Management and staff were very helpful and friendly, especially Maria and her son Paolo. Hotel Burgstall is in the town of Neder and situated in a quiet neighbourhood. All in all we had a five star experience.
