The Jagdhof hotel is situated in a beautiful position with a direct view of the Stubai Glacier. This was our second visit in 3 months as my partner is an avid skier.
We particularly loved the high-end refurbished rooms and en suite bathrooms. They are spacious with exceptionally comfortable beds and there is storage space for everything. The heated floors keep a cozy warmth within and this is perfect for drying out walking boots and ski jackets. I feel the view and the room furnishing are the main reasons we came back to The Jagdhof again.
In contrast, the restaurant, bar area and spa are typically Austrian and very rustic. That said, the spa offers many different things to try and the more recent Spa Chalet is of the same high
-end design standard as the bedrooms. It was half term and the hotel was very busy with families but the spa area was quiet and because of the many options you could always find a private corner to relax.
Whilst the restaurant waiting staff were excellent and particularly Alfred who was exceptionally attentive and prompt in delivering our order, we were not so keen on the half board food choices. The five course menu had 2 choices for starter, soup, salad bar, main, dessert and also a cheese plate. The main tended to be a small piece of meat or fish with one potato, very small vegetable and sauce dotted on the plate for presentation. We would just have preferred 3 courses with a stand-out main course.
Ash Wednesday was different and there was a fantastic seafood buffet for starter. This would have been lovely on a more regular basis.
I took the option of snow shoe hiking with a great guide from outside. This was offered within our room rate. It was a fabulous experience and I would highly recommend it.
An area for improvement would be the room charging for incidentals. On both occasions we had items on our bill that we hadn’t ordered. The system of signing a receipt at breakfast for the previous days extras does seem a bit archaic and open to mistakes. We had a receipt for signature that was to a completely different room number than our own. When highlighted at the front desk this was responded to in a defensive way with one particular member of staff. We certainly didn’t expect this reaction in a 5 star hotel.
The afternoon cakes are delicious and a welcome treat. The apple strudel is always the most popular with it having been replenished 5 times one afternoon. However, still missed out on it twice and would strongly suggest fewer cake options and lots more strudel please. Also, it’s not clear whether a hot drink is included free of charge with the afternoon cake. This time around we weren’t charged but that was not the case on our last visit.
I hope the feedback is helpful and constructive. We will return to The Jagdhof as it does have a unique ambience and is just a 25 minute transfer from Innsbruck.

Finding faults in a perfect hotel like the Jagdhof is practically impossible. The new Kartnall single rooms are wonderful. The cleanliness throughout the hotel is (as always...) more than perfect. The breakfast is (as always...) fantastic. The Kaiserschmarrn are the best you can eat in all of Austria. I love them with plum ( zwetschken kompott). Mehr als spitze. The food served for dinner is like breakfast: fantastic. The SPA area is one of the best that can be found in the Alps (and beyond....). Clean, quiet, cozy, perfectly lit. I love (for many years...) the sauna on the ground floor, that is, the one with the small stones that are heated and then cooled a little at a time with water.
The owners (Christina and Armin) are wonderful and very kind people. The waitresses dressed in Dirndl are a joy for the eyes and the spirit. Alicia at the reception (I hope I remember her name correctly) is very kind, very nice, very elegant, super professional and helpful. She is also a beautiful Woman (with the capital W): dressed in the black Dirndl she becomes even more beautiful and polite. The Jagdhof is a true Tyrolean hotel: perhaps the best in all of Tyrol. And Tyrolean hotels are the best hotels on planet Earth. It follows that the Jagdhof is one of the best hotels in the Milky Way

Here it is as it has always been - dignified elegance of a 5-star hotel. Lots of dark wood, antlers and the female staff wear dirndls. The hoteliers still greet the guests themselves and a little small talk is just part of it. The breakfast is sensational - and if that's not enough, you can choose something special from a small menu. The SPA area is incredible - large, diverse, and special. Children under 15 are not allowed in special areas, as is a textile-free zone for the saunas. Why still not 5 points? I lack the lightness, the modern, bright, airy - the new 'SPA building' (front right in the picture) radiates that - but unfortunately only the ...

We have been guests again after many years and were not disappointed. There is a beautiful new SPA area, the fantastic outdoor pool still exists - I will miss the afternoon swim at dusk very much. The suite was very modern and yet adapted to the "Austrian" environment. The decorations were personally created by Ms. Pfurtscheller, an absolute eye highlight for New Year's Eve. Our service (Karl-Heinz, Olivia, Kostas and JĂĽrgen from the bar) was mega nice and accommodating. The food offered offered more than the heart commits. The midnight second New Year's Eve menu, as well as the great fireworks was TOP - all in all a very nice holiday.
Only small criticism, at cafe time one or the other guest liked to sit in a bathrobe in the restaurant or bar area. I found it not so suitable for a 5* hotel.

Basically it is a really good hotel. However, you have to pay very close attention to where the booked room is located. We were unlucky enough to get a room overlooking the courtyard where the night's sleep was severely disturbed by an extremely loud fan. On holiday you definitely want it differently.

We have returned to the Jagdhof for an extended weekend after 8 years, and in some cases the same staff still ensures the great standard! In addition to the unbelievably beautiful surroundings and the wellness area, the following employees have contributed greatly to ensuring that we did not miss anything: Jasmine at reception was always helpful and super friendly. Alfred got us in the restaurant our desired table by the window and also otherwise ensured that we did not miss anything. The culinary experience was further enhanced by the competent and always entertaining wine recommendations of the sommelier. Philip in the bar likes fantastic cocktails. And Danijela at the SPA was enchanting. Overall we felt very comfortable and great recovered. A visit to the Jagdhof is highly recommended.

This hotel is unique. The staff is absolutely top-notch, polite and accommodating. The food is very varied and tastes excellent. The wellness area is very nice and spacious (you have to experience it). The rooms are mainly made of wood, which gives you a very nice feeling of well-being. The beds are very good. We slept very well in them.

The Jagdhof is one of the most special places we have ever stayed. We went to celebrate a. If birthday and it could not have been more perfect. From the moment you arrive, you feel immediately at ease and so well looked after. The whole staff team are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Then there is the food - it’s like eating in a Michelin starred restaurant every night. Wonderful menus changing every day, lovely options for the children and a wine cellar that would rival anywhere in the world - plus an extraordinary sommelier to guide you through (thank you, Karl-Heinz). Isabella on reception was delightful throughout, Marino in the bar was so much fun and lovely with the children and we can’t leave a review without mentioning Igor, who looked after us at breakfast and dinner every day with such easy charm and genuine care. We are so glad we found the Jagdhof and were able to celebrate our special week there.

The hotel is amazing. Everything is thought out in detail. Staff are friendly.
The SPA is huge and you will not want to leave it. The heated pool allows you to swim outside and then you find yourself in heated water, surrounded by snow. It's amazing. Breakfast is plentiful, fresh and of good quality. The views from the rooms are amazing. Plenty of parking space if you rent a car, and valets help you park it. Welcome drink offered upon arrival.
Bottled water given upon check-out.

As a bit of constructive criticism, the Nespresso machine capsules in the room could be offered complimentary, as is already the case in the SPA.

This is a family run hotel and their presence is felt in the all around quality they bring to the hotel. The setting is beautiful and there its wonderful hiking all around. You could stay a week and not get it all in. Reception was very efficient as we sat a a table outside enjoying a Prosecco while we completed the process. Our room was large and very nicely furnished. The bathroom was large and up to date. The pool, spa and outside seating areas were top quality. The bar was warm and inviting and the dining room was beautiful and the food and service were excellent.

We had a serious problem with KLM as they lost our luggage. It was nearly impossible to communicate with them and their web site tracking was never updated in the 4 days it took to get our luggage. It turned out it was sitting the whole time in the Munich airport and we finally had to drive for 5 hours back and for the the airport to pick it up and who knows when we would have gotten it if we had waited for them to deliver it. But Kai at the hotel front desk spent a lot of time trying to help us and finally reached a person at the airport luggage in Munich who at least could tell us our luggage was there. He was also very helpful in advising us on hikes and other activities .

We are definitely going back to this hotel and will avoid KLM if we can as this is the second time in three trips in the last two years they have lost our luggage.

The main ski area is a glacier, 19 km far from the hotel. It is very easy to go there. In front of the hotel there is a stop of the free ski pass. Another possibility is to use the private shuttle minivan of the hotel. Even in this case is free of charge 100%.

Although there was smoking allowed at the bar, there were plenty of other places to enjoy a drink and we were never bothered by smoke smell.
