This place is wonderful, incredibly good staff who can’t do enough, including helping to fix my car! Superb breakfasts and great fine dining supper (five courses). It’s a quick, and free bus ride to the skiing area. Would I go back - deffo.
This hotel has a good position, lovely spa facilities but due to lack of staff is under utilised-only offering half board means meals are taken in a different hotel and this then reduces the lack of service elsewhere-ie the hotel bar was never open, not all staff spoke English and wasn’t always manned so it was almost a half way house with everything else.It could do so much more it has the potential to be great.
We have just returned from a week in Neustift staying at the Bergjuwel. It is a lovely hotel with kind and caring staff. I had emailed the hotel previously to request soya milk at breakfast for my husband who is lactose intolerant. Not only did he receive this but also lactose-free cheese, yogurt and butter! We have managed to get soya milk in many hotels previously but the extras provided here were great. I had also asked for firmer pillows and though the pillows in the room were the usual thin Austrian variety they did give us three each! The swimming pool downstairs was lovely...much warmer than the one at the Bergkonig where we had stayed previously...and as not many people seemed to use it, it was almost like having a private pool! Evening meals...which were very good...were taken in the Bergkonig...about five minutes walk away...not a problem except when it rained...but we were give huge umbrellas!…
Overall a decent hotel but they need to install some kind of fly deterrent as it was a real nuisance in the mornings at breakfast. We had dinner each night in their sister hotel, Bergkonig, but there were no flies there, so not sure what the issue is but it needs addressed urgently. Also despite a prior email request for a few extra firm pillows ( having been to Austria many times, I knew they would be the softer variety ) and with having neck & back issues it was important that we had this agreed in advance of our arrival, which it was. I enquired on our first morning where the extra firm pillows were, only to be told by a rather stern lady ( unfortunately I did not get her name ) that we had been given extra pillows. I explained that what they had given us where the soft kind and it was then suggested to me that I should have brought my own firm pillows on the plane ... a tad inconsiderate I thought. Lastly the WiFi was very intermittent in the bedrooms, so a review of this should also be looked at.…
