This hotel was set above the city of Volos (about 500 m above sea level) with the most wonderful views over the port and bay. The rooms were of a very high standard and the staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Portaria itself is a small village, but there are plenty of very good places to eat and again,...

The hotel is very good and the owners have restored a magnificent estate house. The decorations and the atmosphere is excellent and although we stayed there during the winter the outdoor pool makes it an excellent choice for the summer. As others reviewers have written parking in the hotel can be tricky as you have to drive up a very...

Wonderfull atmosphere and exceptional restoration of the Historical building. Its a unique place, that combines history, architecture, with technology and amenities. The owners are more than friendly and polite , as also the stuff: helpfull, polite, smiling and 24 hours awake. Really, i have loved it so much, the simplicity, the design, the spaces.

Well organized, clean, tidy and having a superb taste in each and every corner of the rooms, the loby, the garden and most of all the authentic classic cantral building, despotiko is definately a must see for everyone who desides to visit Portaria and Pelion. Even if you have chosen another hotel or room to stay there, try to find...

We visited this hotel as part of a tour group for one night. We really loved the quaint comfortable boutique hotel. A former palace, up on the hill makes it a true Jen, worth locating. The rooms are comfortable and modern. The room is air conditioned, but did not really cool off to our liking, but that is a small...

Very pleasantly surprised, modern rooms with very nice bathrooms and huge showers. The street is very tight to navigate but you rarely will find a hotel with an underground parking for guests, so worth the effort. Although the pool is small and offers few chez, it was very quiet and relaxing.

We are a couple with a 3 year old and visited Despotiko in September 2014. The hotel is conveniently located a 5 minute walk down a stone pebbled street from the main square, and is both central and quiet at the same time. The hotel has ample underground parking with easy access to the main lobby. The rooms are of...
