Next trip to Ireland, I'll start here and plan a few extra nights! Melanie and Geraldine were great hosts and went out of there way for us, even leaving a tray of fresh fruit, scones, yogurts at our door for a very, very early flight out. The room was beautiful, the bathroom huge, and we were steps from the castle... More

We chose Trim--and specifically Highfield House--for our last night in Ireland, thinking it to be a nice alternative to an airport hotel. And it definitely was although it meant a little more driving on narrow country roads than we would have liked coming from Galway. It's a lovely town though (sadly we didn't have much time to explore it) and... More

We only stayed one night at Highfield House but wish we could have stayed longer. Lots to do in the town of Trim and nearby. The B&B was lovely! Beautifully decorated and the rooms were very clean and welcoming. We stayed here on our last night in Ireland, and had an early flight out in the morning. We were not... More

We landed in Dublin, rented our car and fled the city for the lush Irish countryside! Trim was our destination and it was the perfect start to our Ireland holiday. The Highfield House is situated across from Trim castle overlooking the rolling fields of the castle grounds. Gorgeous! Our room was small but cozy, beautifully furnished and comfortable. There was... More

We are disappointed in our two night stay. We arrived after a full day of driving from Westport. We came inside and rang the bell. A young woman answered the door and asked our name, then closed the door. A few minutes later she returned, told us to follow her. We climbed the stairs around the corners to our room.... More

Trim is a great call for your first night - or last night - in Ireland if you're flying in or out of Dublin. And Highfield House is a delight either way. The house is absolutely gorgeous. Geraldine is a warm and gracious host. Breakfast is delicious. Stay here. Highfield House is right across the road from Trim Castle and... More

Stayed two nights and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The facility is immaculate and the staff is friendly, friendly, friendly. Thought it was modestly priced, and the location can't be beat. Right across the street from Trim Castle. Highly recommended.

Wonderful food (the fresh fruit was indeed a real treat in Ireland), wonderful hostess, and a wonderful location in the sweet town of Trim. Practically across the street from the Castle, and two blocks from the town center. The beds were comfortable, and they had washclothes, too!

Coming up the drive & looking at the garden & flowers, we just knew this was a special place. Once inside, the reception area confirmed this, & by the time we got to our room, I was inclined to think that this is the most impressive B&B we have ever stayed in. The interior is absolutely stunning, & the warm... More

This was our first night in Ireland and chose the Highfield House for its great reviews and proximity to Trim Castle. Our host was friendly and welcoming and provided recommendations on "must see" attractions. The room was large and comfortable, as was the bathroom. We were also fortunate enough to overlook the front garden with the Yellow Steeple in the... More
