First, I want to say we enjoyed our stay and the people are very pleasant. The location allowed us to visit numerous sites which was also nice. I loved sleeping to the sound of the waterfall there. The only negative thing I have to say...More
I stayed at Residence La Ferriera during the week of Christmas with my husband and two sons. We enjoyed the peaceful setting and helpful staff. We were able to visit Florence, Rome, Siena, and several smaller towns from this location. Since we exchanged through Interval...More
Beautiful setting in the mountains and the village of Loro Ciuffenna is exactly what you would picture when you think of Tuscany. It was fun to explore. We took two lane roads across the mountains to Chianti and Siena. We stopped at a couple castles...More
Stayed here with my family of 6: my mom, grandma, grandpa, aunt, best friend and myself. We stayed for 7 nights the week of Thanksgiving. The property is located in a quaint Italian village in beautiful Tuscany. We were told that it’s an old mill....More

You will probably want a car. There is a train station fairly close but you will need a hired car to get back and forth. The location is central to all the important sites in Tuscany. Breakfast times where fairly limited, but the staff will make up a continental breakfast for you the night before if you have to be out early. Dinner typically starts around 7 and you can come in as late as 9:30. We often arrived around 9 pm for dinner. It was one of the highlights and we enjoyed the staff, wine and food.

The previous answer you received from Phil D is completely how I would of responded. The resort was very accommodating during our stay as we left a couple times early and at request they had a breakfast packed for us the night before plus we arrived back one evening around 8pm and enjoyed the full dinner unrushed. The meal plan is for the week of your stay and we enjoyed 10 hour days exploring Tuscany in every direction and always enjoyed returning each evening to our dinner experience as the quality was very good and always nice choices. You could see the dinner choices at breakfast each morning so if it didn't appeal to you then plan b of dining out was an option. Enjoy the stay!
