Actum hotel is the newest hotel in the historical centre of Kranj within steps of monuments, shops and museums. Actum is a unique place where modernity and antiquity meet. We are the first old-timer car hotel in Slovenia - a special theme all through our hotel is an exhibition of old-timer cars. We offer 15 superior rooms (single and double) and 10 exclusive rooms with jacuzzis. Each room has a bathroom (with a hair dryer and bidet), telephone, mini bar, radio, cable TV with a wide choice of international programmes, safety deposit box, and free wireless internet. Rooms have parquet floors and Persian carpets. Reception is open 24 hrs and our friendly and competent staff will be happy to provide you with the information you need for a comfortable stay. Our guests can use the 20 space parking lot in front of the hotel.

This is a superb little hotel meeting and exciting all our expectations. We discovered it when walking down the main street in old town. Conveniently located in the old town historic center, in the pedestrian zone (no traffic, very quiet main street). This 4 stars Hotel Actum is a small boutique hotel decorated in a romantic neo-Baroque style. Inspired by famous actors, the rooms feature Rolls-Royce decorations. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel, but it is not the best. Probable it is time to replace old routers with new technology. Parking is available directly behind the hotel. They offer fantastic free breakfast, included in the price of your stay.
This is ideal place for travelers on romance/honeymoon vacation. Additional dining and shopping options are available only steps away in the streets surrounding the hotel.

On our way to Croatia our car had problems and we desperately needed a place to stay for the night for our family and caravan.
Despite the hotel being in the middle of Kranj (and it being festival in the town!) the owners helped us amazingly to find the hotel and provide us with the comfort of a safe place to stay and rest. They also provided parking for our caravan.
We were made to feel extremely welcome, a friendly reception despite the late hour, fantastic rooms with really comfortable beds, a really lovely hotel in Rolls Royce style right in the middle of Kranj (a beautiful city).
Many thanks, all we needed was a place to stay and a friendly face, you provided us so much more than that.
We are eternally grateful!

Staff is very accommodating, everyone friendly and nice.
Breakfast was plentiful and delicious.
Bed was comfortable, room large and bathroom fantastic.
Kranj is a nice little City that is a good base for the area.
We will definitely stay again when in the area.

seems like it would be a great hotel, but they've just cancelled a group booking that was confirmed and paid 6 months ago and refuse to give the money back. I understand they are new and were accepting all kinds of bookings, but you can't treat customers like that, one of the tenets of good customer service is not being too greedy and overbooking..... they will lose business if they keep this up.

Although the hotel was good and the room was decorated well with style but the manager was horrible!! She will ruined your vacation with her impolite behavior and impatient attitude ! Not recommended at all

We only stayed one night on our way through Slovenia, but we were very pleased with our choice to stay at Actum. It was clean and had good amenities (spacious shower, decent AC, wine fridge, etc.), very friendly staff, and the breakfast included hot food. The hotel even has a vinoteko-- a wine and cigar lounge. It was in a great location in downtown Kranj, close to restaurants and sites. Highly recommend it.

We stayed in Kranj on the night before our early morning flight home. We were looking for airport convenience, and if necessary, access to Ljubljana. After 2 weeks away, we weren’t sure if we wanted to head back into the city or simply relax for an afternoon and Kranj seemed like an ideal spot to do either. We were surprised by Kranj. We didn’t know anything about it, but it’s actually the 4th largest city in Slovenia and has a lovely pedestrian street and interesting architecture. Hotel Actum is located on this pedestrian street, but if you have a car, like we did, you are allowed to drive to the hotel parking area and will receive a voucher to leave.
The room was large and interestingly decorated—not our style, but we also appreciated the size along with the large bathroom. Hotel Actum receives this 4 star review from me because of the actions of the front desk employee: he graciously helped us with our luggage, booked us massages next door, gave us vouchers for the city's gym, and passed us along to an incredibly friendly waiter at the hotel’s restaurant who happily accommodated us for lunch and dinner. Even though we were there for only around 12 hours, we recognized and appreciated this hospitality. In fact, the hotel even offered us to make us breakfast before our early flight (we declined—it was too early to eat!). All in all, Kranj was a fun surprise at the end of our trip, and the Hotel Actum helped us complete our vacation in the most unstressed way possible.

Sunday, 16:00, Rode into Kranj on motorbike. Entered the pedestrian area, as you do on a motorbike.. (but is was a business trip)
Asked a local couple with buggy if they knew an OK hotel with Wifi.
got 2 pointers, entered Actum first, and made a deal with the receptionist: room, bxft, free safe parking for bike, wifi. I might have gotten the price down a bit more if I had tried, but the whole place felt OK and I took it at 80Euro/night.
Room was very Good. It had 2 levels with small staircase, and window on South (I used that do dry some washed clothes). Checkin was complicated as receptionist had scanner/computer-trouble but he managed.
No elevator (no big deal for me, good excercise, 3rd floor...).
Receptionist lend me a bucket + cloth to wash the insects off the bike, always nice.
Neighbour was an avid rider himself: had a good chat.
Hotel is nicely themed: Rolls Royce and other cars.
Room was big, but quite full with furniture and various "items", which I find sometimes confusing: I tend to loose and forget stuff in too-busy-stocked rooms.
Location is Nice: in old town pedestrian area: nice to stroll around.
Breakfast was OK.
All in all good value for Money in Slovenia.

We had an early morning flight and we arrived at the Actum hotel before noon. We were expecting to drop our suitcases at the hotel and to wait for the official check-in time, but we were really pleasantly surprised that we were offered the use of one of our rooms right away and at no extra charge! Overall, during our whole stay the staff at the reception was very nice and helpful.
The decor of the hotel is quirky and surprises you every time you turn a corner. Our rooms were very clean on arrival and were kept so during our stay. The beds were comfortable, the hotel was quiet and we definitely slept well. There was an unseasonal heatwave during our stay and it was a relief that air-conditioning worked really well.
Breakfast was served buffet style. The food selection was a mixture of local and international items. We especially enjoyed the fresh baked goods. Our waiter was a super friendly and fun lady, who was happy to share tips on how to get around and what to see and do.

We stayed for six nights, using Kranj as a base to explore the Julian Alps. The Actum is a great hotel, good service, individual and quirky rooms, but the standout was the team who were all helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good with a lot of choice. As a base, Kranj is good - regular transport links to Bled, Bohinj and Skopja Loka, with plenty of good bars and restaurants at a good price!
