Recently stayed in this beautiful town on our Camino adventure. The hotel is somewhat olde world and while some reviews I had read were quite critical of the state of the rooms and indeed the service, that was not our experience. Hotel is located one block back from a magnificent beach which has a 4K promenade. Check in was seamless and receptionist was very friendly. Our room was a decent one, clean/ quiet albeit we could have done with aircon as weather was quite warm. While breakfast was served on site (typical continental breakfast), there was no facility to eat at night ( staff however provided decent recommendations). The town has multiple bars/ restaurants within 5/7 minutes walk of the hotel.

What an abomination! Simply put, this place makes fawlty towers look like the peninsula in HK. First no hot water, then no water at all. Bed mattress filthy as if it was collected from the rubbish tip, Springs coming through mattress. Room Filthy, paper thin walls, staff rude and disinterested. Everything about this property was dated, broken, old etc. This is without a doubt the worst hotel I have ever stayed in anywhere in the world. Do not stay here. One more piece of advice, do not stay in this town, it’s a s**t hole

We stayed here on our stop-off in Laredo on the Camino. This is a shabby establishment, with not a lot to recommend it. The staff did their best but the rooms were badly in need of an overhaul - very old stained carpet in our room, and dusty curtains, and cobwebs around the windows. It looked like no money had been spent on the place in years. They sent us to a pretty poor restaurant called Manolo down the road for dinner. We didn't stay for dessert... To be fair we had a nice drink back in the hotel bar after dinner.

Good rooms and helpful staff. Breakfast was mediocre — no cheese, no eggs. The dining area where they put us was dark — a bar. The reception area too was very dark. They did offer coffee early as I requested.

This hotel is located about 1 km from the main town 2 streets back from the beach. First impressions are OK when you go through a courtyard but after that it is like going back 30/40 years as nothing has been spent on the place. The carpet is frayed, the shower curtain reminds me of Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho and has probably been around as long! The beds are uncomfortable, the room smells and is in great need of TLC and a thorough painting and serious updating. We managed to leave after 1night. The breakfast was pre prepared and Continental with croissant, jam, pate, bread fresh tea and coffee plus yogurt. Overall not a pleasent experience I regret to say

We viewed two different rooms in this hotel before deciding to move on. Cute courtyard and unique lobby/ hallways. Very dated and disgusting bedrooms!!! This hotel is not clean or efficient. The price was extremely high. I would not recommend this hotel.

We stopped for one night at the El Anclia hotel, which was one night too many. The smell in our room was so awful the only way I could sleep was sitting in the chair by the open window. The overuse of air freshener only made it worse. The staff were helpful, and pleasant. The food reasonable, but oh,that dreadful smell.!

Stayed here one night on our way back to Bilbao for the ferry home. Booked on the day and found it easily. Free on street parking next to the Hotel worked well. Lovely gardens with chairs and tables where we had an evening drink and breakfast. Our room on the ground floor was very tired, especially the bathroom, but was clean with a comfy bed. One member of staff at Reception spoke English. Easy walk from here to the marvelous beach and restaurants and bars for evening. Continental breakfast was very good.

We needed a hotel at the last minute due to a change in travel plans. It was clean and comfortable .WIFI was about the best I've come across in a hotel which pleased our teenager! I loved the decor especially the Square piano as pictured. Breakfast was fine and served outside which meant we were greeted by very tame sparrows which was amusing.felt more coffee would have been welcome.lost a star as price quoted was excluding tax so bill bigger than expected .please stop doing this as we all have to pay it !

The hotel is conveniently located close to the beach, with plenty of on-road parking, and just a 10 minute walk in town. I imagine the hotel was once very nice, but is now in need of refurbishing. The public areas are quirky, but that is about it, the rooms are tired, the windows are single-glazed (the heating was off and quite cold in April), the breakfast is ok, but the price is simply too much for what you get.
