Booked the room a few hours before arrival as a last minute, lovely, friendly welcome, room was large, clean and comfortable. Tea and coffee facilities in room were great as we had an early start the next day. Owners were very helpful pointing out local amenities and details of local taxi firm. Perfect location for train in to southport for... More

Just for the record - we didnt end up staying at this accommodation due to the owners confirming that we wernt booked in despite me making the booking nearly 2 months ago and providing credit card details. After checking the day before our arrival what time we could check in - the owner confrimed that she had not confrimed our... More

Well this was a first for me (in a developed country, at least); a bathroom in which the shower has only one predetermined temperature setting. Not only that but, despite the naff little sign in the room saying "Sssh others may be sleeping", turning the shower on resulted in very loud banging emanating from the plumbing. But I guess if... I always aim to stay here when visiting family in the area. The owners are welcoming and friendly, rooms delightful, clean and comfortable, and breakfasts excellent. Good value in a delightful location, very handy for Ormskirk, Southport and Liverpool.

We stayed here just one night, before a conference in nearby Ormskirk at Edge Hill University. What a delightful surprise! The B&B is nestled between two canals, in a gorgeous countryside location, and run by a really friend family. The rooms are very smart, with everything you could wish for. Really comfortable beds too! Breakfast in the farmhouse kitchen the... More

I stayed here for just one night on business with 3 colleagues as we were attending a conference at the university. Before we even went the owner was really helpful, recommending local pubs to eat at. The place is lovely - 2 of us stayed in an annexe and 2 in the main house. The rooms are quaint and quirky... Stayed here for one night when attending a wedding at Rufford Old Hall. The room was a decent size, well furnished with a comfortable bed and clean. Breakfast was very good. The bathroom was shower only plus loo and sink but no bath, not a problem but the water has a fixed temperature and was a lot cooler than I... More
