A reasonable price accommodation next to Lake Tekapo. You can't see the lake like the famous hostel nearby, but it's just 5 minutes' walk from the lake. The building feels a little old but was not uncomfortable to stay. The room I stayed in has two rooms and a living room and kitchen, so it is not inconvenient to cook and eat meals in the room. We stayed for 2 nights and 3 nights and breakfast is available at the cafe next door. I don't remember if I applied for breakfast or if it was included as a base. I didn't eat early in the morning for the tour, and I ate the day. Not good for eating for two consecutive days. It is conveniently located right next to Lake Tekapo, where the mat and restaurants gather.

We hadn't made any pre bookings as we had been sleeping in a tent until the rain came in and we then found out our tent was leaky, so we just poped in to see if there was a room avaliable and there was 3 we could choose from. The lady who looked after us was amazing, she showed us 2 of the rooms (we didn't need to see the 3rd) and we took the one upstairs. There was everything we needed in there, 2 spereate rooms, one with a queen bed and the other had 2 single beds. The room had fantastic views, a great kitchenette with everything you need. The place was spotlessly clean. When we are down here again we will definitely stay again. This was better than I expected and better than a leaky tent.

Lake Tekapo Village Motel is right in the middle of the town with gorgeous views to the Lake and lots in easy walking distance. Lyn the manager is very friendly and helpful and went out of her way to help with dinner suggestions etc. We stayed in an upstairs room looking straight out to the lake but downstairs rooms seemed to have view too. Reasonable rates and very comfortable.

Only stayed the one night en route to Christchurch. Standard Motel offering, everything you would expect, clean but lacking that extra touch. Nice view of the Lake from the balcony. Little else to add other than you are expected to wash your dishes (2 x mugs...) which is a bit hard with no sink. Plus I would have thought it would be a requirement to put them thru a dishwasher?
For some reason accommodation in the district was pricey which reflected in what we paid. Had better for less on our trip around the South Island.
Pleasant lady on reception, appreciated the restaurant recommendation.

Rooms fairly clean but tired and in need of refurbishment. Price was ÂŁ170 for one night and they add ÂŁ5 surcharge for foreign debit card. Felt like a rip off.
Positives: Local area has good choice of restaurants. The motel has a laundrette. Location is very near the lake.

The carpet is disgusting, dirty, and torn out. Toilet is so low. it looks like a grown-up kids toilet.
Reception is only one man's place. Reception doesn't open until 2 pm.
The only plus point is, it's location. Few meters from bus stop. A few minutes walk to the lake. One can see the lake from this motel.
I was supposed to stay for two nights, but Expedia helped me to get a second nights non refundable payment refunded.
I will not stay here again

Our first impression, once recovered of the first sight of the Lake, was that Lake Tekapo is a very small siter and therefore this motel is one of the good options to stay. Quick check-in, stunning views from our terrace, good parking and comfortable beds. The room is not spacious for 4 adults but for one night is OK

We chose the upstairs family room with a view, we were not disappointed, a view straight down the lake, wow. The beds were comfortable, we had enough room for all of us, kitchen was adequate and the large bathroom was good. The lady in reception was very helpful with recommendations for dinner, breakfast, activities not just in Tekapo but around the MacKenzie Country. We have recommended this place to family and friends already, you will not be disappointed.

Hotel prices in Tekapo are quite steep, and this place seemed to be the most reasonably priced without compromising on comfort and location much. It's an older style motel, but well maintained and in a great spot. The lovely lady at reception when we checked in was super friendly and helpful, which is always a good start. Our studio room was spacious and well appointed, the bed was comfortable and the spa bath much appreciated (shower was good too). Our downstairs room even had a partial lake view (which we weren't expecting). The location is excellent, right across from the large and well-stocked 4 Square and near numerous restaurants and bars. I would stay again if passing through for a night.

The location is perfect as it is close to the main centre and you can walk to most things. The view over the lake is good also (possibly better from upstairs). The room was quite small but clean and tidy. There was an enormous bathroom, including a spa bath, but the shower was tiny. It was great for one night but might have been a bit small for any longer.

Hi, The studios ground level have queen and single
Studios upstairs have queen and queen sofabed
Family units have queen in master bedroom and single and sofabed in second bedroom.
Deluxe Family unit has queen in master and two singles in 2nd bedroom
We stayed here as a couple and a 12 yr old in a downstairs room. It had one main room with a double bed, single bed, couch and kettle all in the same room. It depends on how you intend to spend your holiday I guess, if you are looking for a place to sleep and shower then yes this would be suitable but if you intended to spend quite some time in the room then it may be a little small ( there maybe bigger rooms, Im not sure) There were no cooking facilities in our room so bear that in mind if you intend to self cater.
There are more places to choose from in the Lake Tekapo area.
