Just the loveliest place for many reasons. 1. Service - Impeccable. Warm, friendly and very helpful staff (Takuya and Aki ). They were thoughtful and on the ball. 2. Room - Absolutely gorgeous. Tranquil and beautiful view of the privately owned mountain. Tastefully decorated with great amenities and quality hair/body essentials. The futon, comforter and pillows were out of this...

My first time to Kaga city to see red maple leaves. Due to the period of "red leaves", all hotels were fully booked. Kayotei Inn was the only residence we can manage to make reservations because of prior cancellations. Actually, we were so lucky to get this extraordinary services in Japan. I went to Japan nearly every 3 months for...

Rarely a ryokan in Japan got staff speaks fluent English. It is an exceptional. Not only one, actually is most of them. Don't think it's an new style one, It's a traditional ryokan with only 10 rooms. All staff are very helpful. Always offer to ask if we have any question. When we mention about the address of the sight...

The history, the authenticity, the staff, the owners, the food, all are unbelievable. If you want one real Japanese experience you must visit here. Family owned, working with local artisans and suppliers, it is fantastic.

Can't recommend this highly enough. Our first ryokan and what a good start. The futon was so comfortable, the hot Onsen was perfection, dinner exceptional but what made it so special was the exquisite care taken by the owners. We have a passion for craft which was largely why we came here and when we arrived a bit weary and...

This was our first experience at a ryokan in Japan. The food and service was outstanding... very caring staff and genuine hospitality. Bathroom in our room was a little weird, not used to sleeping on futons - but very comfy... great private onsen on our deck.

My daughter and I celebrated her 25th birthday @ Kayotei Inn and we were treated like a queen and princess. We were upgraded to an outstanding suite with private onsen. Pure bliss. Concierge Shuta will go far in the hospitality world, outstanding young man. Every detail to sooth the soul is exceeded. And the forested backdrop while soaking in private...

We visited for 2 nights. 2 adults and 13 year old son. I can't say enough about the warmth of the staff, friendly, kind , accommodating. They think of every detail and really make you feel at home. Our junior suite with private onsen was an oasis. We used the onsen several times. So beautiful at sunrise and in the...

This Ryokan is amazing! It is in a beautiful setting and is so peaceful! Our room had a private onsen and the view of the surrounding forest and stream was so relaxing. We didn't want to leave the room or private bath. A fantastic place to unwind. The staff was so amazing and accommodating! The general manager and son are...

Great personalized experience. A true Japanese experience. Gourmet meals in private dining room. Set in beautiful setting by a gorge and wonderful hot springs in the hotel. Shuta, the concierge, personally took us to a restaurant in town and translated the Japanese menu for us...amazing!
