Food was fantastic, and there was lots of choice. Overall me and my Husband were very happy with our stay.
I am not someone who would normally complain but Unfortunately, me and my husband stayed in one of the Deluxe Bungalows and we found it extremely small. There is no seating inside the bungalows other than the outside area. So you have no choice but to sit on your bed when getting ready. The outside seating area, isn’t really practical because there are lots of insects flying around in the daytime so at night it is a nightmare. So unless you want to be eaten alive then you have no choice than to sit on the bed. The TV is not very good other than BBC News, which is the only Channel available. The only way you can get anything good on, is to pay for Movies etc. Considering this is supposed to be a 5 Star Hotel, found this quite strange. Also, the entertainment doesn’t start until 10pm and finishes at 12pm so getting a early decent nights sleep is extremely unlikely. The fact that this is all held outside with the speakers pumping out very loud music and live Karaoke singing etc. I’ve stayed in a lot of Hotels, but have never come across any entertainment that is held outside before. It’s normally held inside and doesn’t disturb anyone. Also the Hotel, is in the middle of nowhere so there is nowhere you can walk or any shops of any kind. The only shop is the one within the Hotel itself, but is limited to what it sells. Me and my Husband, just felt disappointed by these few issues and it did impact on our much anticipated Holiday.

Dear Gembys, Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your stay at Grand Palladium Sicilia Resort & Spa and for giving us the highest rate. We are very glad to hear you enjoyed our food, our culinary team works diligently to provide a diverse and delicious dining experience. On the other hands we are very sorry if the type of room and our facilities we offer did not match your expectations . We organize normally our animation shows in our outside areas because our hotel guests normally prefer to enjoy the beautiful summer evenings outside. Once again, We are really sorry if the night shows disturbed your stay. Our Hotel is located far from the city traffic away with direct access to the sea in order to guarantee a relaxing stay and apologize if this was not your case. We are sorry if this time we could not to offer the excellent service we are known for and we thank you for your detailed report, this allows us to make improvements where possible. We would love you could give us another chance in the future and to live the real Palladium experience that converts guests into Fans! Best Regards, Sara Customer Care

A bright modern hotel with plenty of grounds and buildings - main block 3 storeys also have many bungalows which all tend to be in the shade and close to the sports activities and other restaurants El Dorado, Chang Thai and Sports Bar.
We went during the last week of the season – nearly all the facilities and restaurants were open until we left (we were the last guests to leave !!) The hotel was fairly quiet even though they were expecting a conference of around 200 people between Wednesday to Friday. Could imagine the place to be bustling in the summer months.
The hotel is situated in a very quiet location with just a couple of hotels nearby not even walking distance to anywhere.
The hotel arranged a minibus daily to Cefalu (pronounced Chefalu) approx 30 mins. for 10 euros return. Its a lovely place where films such as Indiana Jones 5, Sky’s The White Lotus were filmed.
Also twice a week to Palermo, approx 50 mins for 25 euros return giving you about 6 hours which was plenty of time to enjoy the buildings and street food markets.

Food choice was excellent at all meals, plenty of options but at times not very warm. Wine was served to you at the table and very nice too.
A few negatives which make it “nearly a Grand”
1. No teaspoons available at breakfast in the Sicania restaurant to stir sugar/hot drinks or use to eat the yoghurt from the pots had to ask each time !!
2. We booked via Jet2 a “partial sea view” on arrival was given room 1047 which had no s.v. or even pool view just trees and the restaurant dining terrace. Offered another room further down the corridor more or less the same- did not change. Was told by hotel we have NO partial sea views but have “sea side” meaning it was on the side of the sea not front car park!
Considering we sent an email in advance to see if they could give us a reasonable room as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and the hotel not being busy at the time I think it was a little disappointing and not the best customer service,
3. Drinks – menu on app. They did an Apperol and Limoncella spritzer but when asked for a Bucks Fizz/Mimosa which is orange juice and the same prosecco they would not make it up as not on menu ! This happened a few times at the main bar, so I asked for each individually and poured them into one glass – maybe a “jobs worth” who knows?
Having said all that, generally the hotel and staff were great and it seemed they were all looking forwards to their end of season party after we left.
Would recommend the hotel.

This review written in June 2022 after a one week stay at the Grand Palladium.
There is much to like about this hotel, but also a number of short comings.
The first thing to say is that the hotel brands itself as a 5 star, but in reality is an average to good 4 star.
On the positive side the staff are teriffic, friendly, efficient, polite and quick to respond to requests. They definitely deserve a ten out of ten. We had a deluxe double room with sea view with was clean, tidy and obviously recently refurbished. The bathroom was clean and modern with amazing shower facilities. We also benefited from excellent free WiFi but his may have had something to do with the router being in our room, having said that coverage all over the hotel appeared excellent.
For us the all inclusive package we paid for delivered much of our expectations, with drinks both soft and alcoholic along with a range of cocktails on tap all day from the various bar areas. The food overall varied from average to good but never exceeded good. We also tried two out of the three branded "a la carte" restaurants which were a little disappointing and in reality were just slightly nicer restaurant areas. We had expected they would deliver a higher level of cusine than they did and frustratingly the dress code as advertised by the hotel was not adhered to which left us feeling we may as well have used the buffet area Instead
The buffet restaurant was reasonable when it was a little quieter, but could be bedlam at busier times. It definitely felt like being back in a school canteen at times yet with some reorganization by management could have delivered an overall better experience.
The hotel itself is situated in a very isolated location with no local town or village to walk to within a reasonable distance, even the two nearest other hotels restrict non residents from visiting them and are guarded by security at the beach side and locked gates on the main entrances, but if it's just sun, sea and pool you want then the Grand Palladium will deliver. For anything further afield then a hire car is a necessity.
The hotel also has a policy of guests not leaving towels on sunbeds in a morning but this was not monitored by staff and the rule was generally ignored, so if you stick to the rules you may struggle to get available sunbeds amongst the many with towels already on them and no one using them ! Management should address this? In addition the private beach area is definitely not up to scratch and in areas looks untidy and a little unclean.
Finally we took two trips out to Cefalu, by organised shuttle bus, and Palermo (by train) which were enjoyable enough but not memorable although they did deliver a slice of Sicilian life.
Overall we enjoyed our stay but due to its location would probably not visit again but a thank you all the same !

Let's start with the positive sides of the hotel: new, nice rooms, well-functioning air-conditioning, beautiful lobby, good cleaning service, cheerful animations at a good level, mostly friendly service, possibility to ask the chef for an additional, individual dish. Unfortunately, there are also big negative things. Let's start with a weak supply. I have been here for 6 days and I have already heard: the mint is over, there will be no more shrimps, the cheese was earlier... In addition, there are queues everywhere: to the entrance to the restaurant, for every dish that is not served in the buffet, but served by the service. It is hard to resist the impression that it is not caused by concern for our health, but the simple economy issues of the hotel. If you come to dinner at 9 pm, often one person has 3 stands to serve food - stand for 5 minutes and no one will be interested in you. The quality of the cheesy food leaves much to be desired. In a 5 * hotel of the Palladium you can expect a proscoutto, not chicken luncheon bought in Lidl. I see here a big problem of people management and food maintanance. The staff tries to be nice but what are they supposed to say when they have run out of food to serve? A big minus for a paid Spa. I'm not talking about massages here, but about the pool and jacuzzis. In most hotels, attractions such as the swimming pool are simply included. Here you have to pay 27 euros per pair! There is also a problem with leaving the hotel. If you rent a car, you have to stand 15 minutes in front of the gate until someone kindly opens you, because nobody is around and the intercom does not work. It can work, but there is no one to open it. The hotel is quite expensive, unfortunately it does not give the feeling of a fulfilled, delicious Italian holiday. It is worthwhile to work on hospitality and give guests the feeling of money well spent. I will not recomand it if you want to feel good vibes.

The service we received during our one week stay at Grand Palladium was first class throughout the entire hotel from the restaurant’s and bars to client service's, where Silvio looked after us exceptionally well. We liked our ground floor deluxe double room located in the quieter signature level area, which was superbly comfortable and promptly made up each day, whilst we were having breakfast in the Sicania buffet restaurant where there was a plethora of choice. The location of this hotel is 👍 since it’s in close proximity to Cefalù which is a beautiful seaside town that is a short bus ride away. Our favourite a la carte restaurant was the El Dorado with excellent quality cuisine where Roberto gave us exceptional above and beyond service. It was so nice to have a much more relaxed dinner here away from the hustle and bustle of the buffet restaurant. Likewise, we had really nice lunches at the Portofino restaurant located near to the beach where Kristina looked after us really well.
On the down side, we found the long wait checking in at the signature level reception less than convivial, which was mainly due to poor communication from the main reception area and the time taken by having to download the hotel app so we could access menus etc. For an elderly couple celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary, we found this stressful after a long 2.5 hr transfer from Catania airport.

Hotel is fabulous, clean and has very friendly staff.

We had a deluxe bungalow (All inclusive but not Privelidge) which, although quite roomy, had a bed big enough for 4 people which sadly overwhelmed the room.

Bathroom was modern, clean and had a large walk in shower with a "Drench" type Head which never ran out of hot water.

Room has a fridge which was great and when you arrive the contents of the fridge are included, 2 beers, 2 coke, 2 Fanta, 2 Sprite and 4 small bottles of water.

You get 4 small bottles of water per day included in the "All inclusive" deal, but, any subsequent refills of beers or soft drinks cost an extra 10 euros (Definitely not worth it).

What you can do is to purchase 10 additional small bottles of water for 9 euro (Normally charged to your room)

Might be worth noting that on arrival you will need to pay the hotel for "City Tax" and for our 1 week stay this was 35 euro, also they will ask for a 300 euro "Deposit" which is fully refundable if you don't have any "Extras" chrhed to your room outside of your inclusive deal.

Its definitely worth downloading the Grand Palladium Hotels and Resorts app (Once downloaded you will need to find the Sicily Hotel), which is very detailed and contains pretty much everything you need to know including restaraunt details, Pool opening and closing etc as well as a brilliant interactive map.

Be aware though, the app is a little overwhelming until you find your feet!

One thing to watch is when looking at a particular restaraunt it does list prices bur these are only if you are not within those boundaries, for example, if you were to look under the Sports Bar, All Inclusive, it shows prices for beer at 3 euro, this I only an indication of cost for those not all inclusive.

There isn't anywhere to walk to other than around the resort, no popping out to the supermarket (Nearest one is in Cefalu)!

Nearest civilisation is Camp de Falice which is 3.5km away, this is a small local town with a train station where you could possibly catch a train to either Palermo or Cefalu (You would need a taxi from the hotel (20 euro one way), the better option is to use the hotel shuttle bus service which costs 10 euro per person return to Cefalu.

Here you can either spend the day visiting the sites (Definitely worth taking swimmg / bathing stuff) or jump on the train to Palermo.

The shuttle bus leaves the hotel at 9.00am and 3pm, returning 12.30ppm or 6pm.

The shuttle bus drops you off and picks you up at the central railway station which is only 100 metres to the main square / entrance to La Rocca and Temple of Diana.

Wih reference to the A la Carte restaurants, these need to be booked at the reception the moment you arrive otherwise you will struggle to book a slot in any of them for your complete stay. These cannot be booked before you have checked in the hotel!

Arrived back a week ago after a disappointing stay. It started when we arrived after a really back coach journey from airport. Driver stopped at bottom of road an we had to unload our own luggage and take it up to hotel ourselves ! At 3.30 in morning
There were no hotel staff to help, this is supposed to be 5 star we were told if you know guests are arriving at that time staff should be on hand.
Hotel in clean very airy and spacious but not Italian it could be anywhere in Europe
No character, room very nice we had a deluxe sea view Flat screen TV lovely only English programs BBC news ?
Food really poor I’ve been to Italy many times and this is the worst food. Buffett always the same for lunch and evening, no variety usually Luke warm had to walk one end of room to other to collect all you needed.Wine was poured for you very small measures no choice except red white or rose which was always warm requested ice every time but was hard to get.Breakfast was better but having to go along buffet then collect juice and coffee fro DIY machines is pathetic at this class of hotel.
Alacarte restaurants were hard to book all pretty full, portofino a lunch time restaurant was just a copy of buffet food unless you wanted lobster which was an extra charge of 30 Euros per person, some staff in there were quite rude. I had a 4 cheese pizza which was really not very good, I was sick that night.
Drinks we were told that there were premium and local drinks but when we went to bar we had to pay for premium brands £7 for a decent brandy the local one was rubbish.
Entertainment was a pianist playing the same program each night in a lounge with not enough seating for all guests bearing in mind hotel was not full. Or you could go to the stage entertainment, we ended up in our room having our own drinks we purchased on way out of Manchester.our room (deluxe) was situated where you could hear the pianist from the lounge and the stage show which sounded horrific.
We were so fed up of the food and lack of things to do as there were no local places to go hotel in a very isolated position. We took the hotel shuttle to Cefalù which we had to pay 10 euros return each but was worth it, Cefalù was the Italian town we expected beautiful old cobbled streets lovely bars and restaurants. This was the kind of food and atmosphere expected at hotel.
We enjoyed it so much we booked an hotel and went back for overnight stay was 5 stars to us.last day of holiday we had to be out of room at 12 although our pick up was 6.16pm cost us another 60 euros for another room, again we had to load our own luggage onto bus down road.
Hotel not good enough for 5 stars been in better 3 star in Bangladesh.
One thing I would say is the cleaners, bar staff and most of the waiting on staff were really nice and helpful would give the 5 stars
Would not go back would not say it’s Italian or a taste of Sicily☹️☹️☹️

We travelled to Sicily for a wedding and stayed as a big family at the Grand Palladium for a few days.

We had booked a taxi through the hotel for our arrival at the airport (we gave them our flight number etc) but our flight was delayed and when we came out there was no one waiting for us with a sign as promised. We called the hotel and they were unsure of the situation so we just got into a pay by meter taxi from outside the airport and were on our way. Half way a text from a man asking where we were, saying he’d been waiting hours. We assumed he was our driver from the hotel, we apologised profusely and said there had been miscommunication between him, us and the hotel.
After paying €170 to the pay by meter taxi man, we entered the hotel, checked in, and then were immediately told we had to pay the €160 for the taxi we didn’t take… AFTER just paying over €3000 for a 4 night stay… We refused as obviously we were not going to pay twice but the reception staff were adamant. We put our foot down and they said the least we could do is wait for their driver and have a chat with him to clear the air… we felt like we were in school, waiting to be confronted by the head teacher! We then waited in reception for about 20 minutes for the driver to arrive (whilst all we wanted to do was get shown to our room and relax!) before having a very awkward, confrontational conversation, where he basically asked us to ‘follow our hearts’ and pay him the €160 for wasting his time. Appalling behaviour.

One afternoon we called and asked for an iron urgently as we had a wedding to attend and they said it was coming to the room right away… it in-fact took 45 minutes. We even went to the laundry service part of the hotel to see if that would be quicker and they were very awkward and had to call reception to ask permission to iron our clothes.

Again, we had dinner one night in the Portofino a la carte restaurant and didn’t finish all our pizza and were told we were not allowed to doggy bag it… very awkward rules.

On the topic of a la carte restaurants, you have to queue up in reception each day to book them… surely there’s a more efficient way? On the app maybe? You then get to the front of the line only to be told it’s fully booked, and yet you see the restaurant basically empty all day…

The only person who did make the stay worth it, however, was Roberto Sarla at the Portofino restaurant. He was EXTREMELY lovely, very helpful (he spoke to a taxi firm in Italian for us), and very hospitable. An utter delight.

Also, the hotel itself was very nice, the rooms were spacious and clean, the swimming pools were lovely, the coffees and cocktails were delicious, the staff were mostly kind and the food overall was tasty.

If you were to choose this hotel, I’d highly recommend against the signature level. The perks are not worth it for the price. All we seemed to benefit from were a few ‘better’ drinks options and a roped off area by the pool. No point.

Just home after a peaceful week. This is a very clean and comfortable hotel but as we headed towards the end of the season very little to do.

It's very large estate which is difficult for anyone with mobility issues
Bare this in mind.

Having read the reviews we tried to book restaurants on our first day but we could not book Portofino as it was closed after that day in the evenings. So only 2 al a cartes left and as they were only opening on alternate nights we'd have to go at 9pm! Not ideal. The Thai food was dreadful, not Al a carte at all. I ordered Gyozas and Pad Thai both had clearly been sitting under a heat lamp since they opened at 7pm and we're now totally overcooked. Inedible. My husband ordered duck and rice and was served the smallest piece of duck ever seen.
The El Dorado steak restaurant was a little better. The food was edible but if you eat at steak restaurants regularly font expect to be blown away. In our opinion the buffet restaurants were much better, I particularly enjoyed the pancakes to order at breakfast and the omelette station. Always tasty and hot.

We were in a bungalow although we didn't book this in advance, just a standard room. The room was small but very comfortable and housekeeping were faultless and worked incredibly hard.

It rained a few mornings while we were there and the hotel used it as an excuse to close half the resort. Portofino restaurant was closed at lunch 1/2 the time we were there, which is a shame because the one chance we did go for lunch it was great.
Pool bars closed and didn't reopen once the sun started shining after lunch. Not acceptable in a 5* all inclusive. We had to walk 1/4 mile to the beach bar (there is a pool there but not accessible for me as only ladders and not stairs into the pool)

More than half the resort was closed at any one time between the restaurants and bars and yet we didn't pay half price.

There is some entertainment on however, it's not very well promoted. So unless you happened to come across something by chance you didn't know, for example, one evening there was a keyboardist in the lobby bar, another night a quiz which we only knew as we'd seen a member of the animation team in the lift. I wonder if the hotel could promote these things using their app which you access all the time for menus etc.

Dear Nicky, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us at Grand Palladium Sicilia Resort & Spa. We are delighted that you particularly enjoyed our room and cleanliness. In the main time , we are sorry that we did not fully live up to your expectations on this occasion. and for that, we apologies. All Grand Palladium Sicilia Resort & Spa team work very hard day by day to meet all guests needs and to look after any details. The customer satisfaction is fundamental for us and we always strive to exceed expectations. The closure of some outlets was decided on rainy days because it would have been impossible to use, but in the same way the hours of others have been extended. The reopening on the same day was not possible because there was the possibility of further precipitation. We always aim to exceed all our guests expectations and make of their stay wonderful experiences, for this we are really sorry to read your disappointment. We hope to have your trust again. Best regards, Irene V. Hospitality Manager

This hotel was one of the best I have stayed in…..why you may ask. Well here goes…
Transfer for us was with just one other couple.
Check in was super smooth
The room 1021 was very central near reception, near the restaurant and pool
We arrived late afternoon and were taken to Xtra time in one of their little buggies to eat. Food was lovely.
Restarting choices were great. We did not eat the same food twice. Always got seated on arrival both indoors and outdoors. Carmen was lovely in there. Always welcomed you with a smile.
Speciality restaurants easy to book, a little rushed unless you tell them.
The freshly prepared eggs at breakfast were fantastic and always served with a smile.
The fish and pasta again freshly prepared were truly delicious. A lot of care and attention was given to presentation and quality.
Drinks, be it wine or cocktails were great. Antonio at the beach bar always greeted everyone with a smile and so did all the other bar staff.
No rush in the mornings to reserve sun beds. Always could find spare ones.
Beach pebbly so take appropriate footwear.
Sunsets georgeous
Cleanliness of the highest standard throughout.
Julian from the tour company ordered our car and trips out to Mount Etna, Cefalau and Palermo were well worth driving to. We also went to the observertory in Isnello.
Driving a bit hair raising but we did ok.
All the staff are a credit to this hotel and make your stay super special.
An amazing hotel with fantastic staff. They have definitely got it right here. Please don’t let the negative reviews put you off as I always review honestly.

Can you advise the extra charge cost for the a la carte restaurants please.

We were not charged extra on the menu. If you order from a selection, then you are charged. The waiter will advise you on this.

I think it’s called the signature collection - those are rooms which are of the standard you’d expect at the price point and the only ones that won’t be blighted by noise. Others are basic and on the run down side. There’s an open air theatre that is in red noisy so the bungalows and sea view rooms are unusable unless you’re planning to be out until midnight every night.

Not as standard but I am sure you can request some.

"To note it is a bit remote but some excursions can be arranged. The A La carte restaurants are hard to book but honestly the buffet is a good option. "
