We had a very nice stay at Acacia Resort. All the flowers, plants and trees all over the hotel made it look like a paradise.

Rooms: Rooms were spacious and clean, and most furniture looked very new. Bed is comfortable.

Meals: Breakfast was not really international, we missed a few things. There were many sweets, full of sugars, but for instance there were no vegetables served, we could only get tomatoes if we ordered. There were max 2 types of breads, 1 type of cheese and so on. So the breakfast is just average. However, the dinner was always very delicious. The grilled meat, vegetables, pastas, desserts, fruits, everything was tasty.

Staff: Unfortunately, many staff members at breakfast and dinner did not really speak English so when we asked something about the food, sometimes they could not explain or they did not understand. I think if it is an international property, everyone should speak English. However, everyone is very kind and friendly and if there was a problem, it was solved quickly.

Pool and beach area: The pool is quite big, it was not crowded at all, temperature was nice. It is good that the pool has deep and shallow parts, so children can also play and swim easily. The beach is pebbly and the water is not very clean, and there are some big rocks in the water that cannot be seen so it is not very convenient to walk and swim.

Location: The location is not the best because there is almost nothing within walking distance, however, Cefalu can be reached easily by taxi or rental car in 20 minutes.

Amenities: The beach ball ground, the tennis court and the mini golf are not maintained at all so we did not try those, and the gym is also bad with a few old machines. At the beach ball there was no net and the sand was full of weed so it was not possible to play. The mini golf was old and dirty, and the tennis net was very damaged and the ground was bad quality.

Spa: There is a separate spa area on the top floor with a big pool, saunas and massage services. Guests can use it but it has an extra fee. It looks very nice with a great view.

In total, it is a very nice resort with many services, nice staff, good food, but it needs improvment in some areas. Maybe it was closed because of covid and they just reopened, and this is why they have to renovate a few things, but it should be done quickly because without those amenities, I am not sure if it is worth the money.

A couple of negative points. The Beach has no sand it starts with shall , then goes to small pebbles which then go to small rocks, its sharp stones and uneven ground ruin what could be a great beach ! The rooms whilst clean and comfortable lacked any coffee making facilities , not so much of a problem if you are fully inclusive as you can pop downstairs and get one at any time, but for those who are not all inclusive it will cost you over £4 a cup !!
The in room fridge had packed up , but instead of swapping it over they simply put a 2nd fridge in the room . The last negative is its location if you want to pop to the nearest shop it will cost you €10 in a taxi . If you want to venture into Cefulu it will cost you €30 each way in a taxi
Now the positives, the hotel staff are amazing and incredibly helpful , Ramondo in the restaurant and Emanuel in the pool bar were always happy and smiling and very attentive , nothing was too much trouble
The Hotel grounds, pool and gardens are fabulously kept and the gardens offer shade on the hottest days . Unfortunately the pool attendant in speedo's spent more time looking at his phone than he did focus on the pool and did nothing when a group insisted on throwing and kicking a ball around the pool
Food was ok and quite varied and the deserts to die for. Evening entertainment whilst a little samey was great and the piano player sang in at least 4 languages. Id definitely be happy to stay here again !

The Negatives
The hotel rooms are looking a tad tired.
The air con in the rooms are very weak and the hotel turns it off in the middle of the night, we woke up due to the heat of the room and asked them to turn the air con back on, which they did, but this happened every night so we had really bad night sleeps.
The available choice for lunch is basically sandwiches, rice and fruit, all very expensive and the location of the hotel means you are very isolated and got now where else to go!
Drinks are ridiculously expensive! Water for the table is 3 euros a bottle! Again captive market.
As mentioned the location of the resort is very far to get basic amenities such as water.
Evening entertainment was not great and more towards to Italian holiday maker.
Not enough sun beds by the pool.
Life guards just smoke and look at their phones all day.

The positives
Pool area is beautiful and very clean.
Restaurant food, evening meal and breakfast was very good.
The staff worked hard to look after you in both the bar and restaurant.
The bedrooms were cleaned every day, maids worked hard.
Clean hotel.

Would we return? No! Compared to the 4 star hotels we have stayed in Turkey, which were cheaper, this hotel was not at the same level, yet more expensive.

Life guards just smoke and look at their phones all day.

(UK Couple ages 21 and 22)

Really pretty resort which is really clean and well maintained. The pool is immaculate and also slightly warm which is nice to spend longer periods of time in.

We booked as bed and breakfast only as the hotel was advertised as being 200m from bars, restaurants and shops. Whilst this is true, there is no direct walk as you would need to cross highways. Leaving you only able to leave the resort via car, taxi or bus. Taxis are €10 each way to the closest town with a supermarket and there are no bars or restaurants in that area as advertised. The next closest town is €30 in a taxi each way.

We upgraded to all inclusive which was around €400 each for 6 days. The food was average for a 4 star all inclusive resort, however the ice cream and drinks selections were great. However, all inclusive does not include ice creams outside of meal times or snacks throughout the day.

Our main bug bear however was that our towels were not changed for 4 days, and our bed linen wasn’t changed until the 6th day. We followed the hotels instructions on where to leave towels to be changed everyday but ended up needing to call reception to get fresh towels.

A few final things to be aware of, there is a membership fee on arrival for access to the pool and beach which is compulsory at €35 + €15 Tax each. The second pool is in the spa area and is only accessible for an added fee with booking. Beach Towels are €3 per person and cannot be changed for free. Staff can sometimes be rude and unhelpful. The beach is really well kept and private but it is small and you are unable to walk further than the edges of the resort. Sunbeds are easy to get for 2 people all day, especially from 12pm. Finally, just to be aware entertainment is mainly in Italian with some English songs so good to bring a pack of cards to play while listening.

Overall, fine to stay in for a chilled week away as a couple, but be prepared to spend significantly more once you arrive for an average all inclusive resort experience.

The hotel is faultless, the staff and the amenities are just perfect.
The location let’s it down.
North Sicily itself is stunning but the location of the hotel is restrictive. It will cost 20 euros round trip to the nearest shop, the nearest town is Cefalu which is 30 euros in a taxi one way .
There is not a nearby bus and the hotel shuttle bus is restrictive in the times meaning visitors are reliant on the hotel for simple things such as a bottle of water (3 euros for medium bottle)

I don’t like to write negative reviews but the isolated location needs to be considered. I had read reviews stating the same but as I could see a shuttle bus offered by the hotel I took the gamble.
The shuttle bus runs twice daily at 8:15-12.00 and again 3:15-6pm and cost 7 euros each.

If you want to visit Palermo it is amazing , to get to this the shuttle is 8:15-12:45 the journey takes 45 mins
We took the train this meant 10 euro to the station then 11 euro each return then again another taxi.
The best advice I could offer is to hire a car if visiting the hotel and also wanting to explore a little.
If you want to stay in the hotel only for your holiday then this hotel is fantastic.

We went as an all-inclusive package so you assume it's all-inclusive but not in this hotel. I.e.Ice cream, crepes are not included at the bar. Most of the time we need to argue at the bar asking for drinks, as they asked for money. The staff is rude and speaks little ( close to none ) english. They made us feel unwelcome . However I must say that restaurant waiter Giuseppe, Sandro made good job, smiled to us and were polite and accommodating, so as Davida ( bartender) and Marta ( entertainer ) .
All evening or day entertainment is in Italian with little translation in English if remembered . So if you have small children they won’t enjoy kids club.
Lifeguards are absolutely incompetent. Most of the time on the phone or just there to supervise if you washed your feet from the sand ( if you came from the beach). They used whistles for wrong purposes, not for danger or attract your attention but to communicate with other staff or make jokes. The worst thing that at around 5 pm you will find them on the side of the pool bar drinking alcohol . Bearing in mind they are on duTy until 7pm.

Food was basic and the same for all two weeks we stayed.

Spa staff very polite and nice!

Check ( and challenge ) your bill during the check out.

We will not go back to this hotel and won’t recommend to our friends and relatives

We travelled here in the middle of May on an all inclusive package with jet2 holidays so some of this review may be Jet2’s fault more than the hotels… the hotel is a good two hours journey away from the airport on some incredibly bumpy roads and Jet2’s ‘express transfers’ really means a bus rammed full of people with no toilet so make sure you go in the airport! On arrival at the hotel we were dropped off at the bottom of the driveway and left to take our own luggage down the driveway to reception (not the hotels fault), on check in there’s no explanation of where anything is, no hotel maps etc, just ‘here’s your room card my colleague will take you to your room’ the room was clean, for a ‘superior double’ I wouldn’t expect two single mattresses pushed together though, only one socket in the whole room though and no mirror on the dressing table so we ended up unplugging the mini fridge and moving that so that the other half could do her hair and make up in front of a mirror. The ‘mini bar’ has a menu on top of it with prices but it’s empty so that was pointless. The bar staff and waiters are all incredibly friendly and they do their best to speak English as well. We went all inclusive and it really does feel like they try to make extra money anyway they can, not many cocktails on the all inclusive menu and €3 for a bottle of water even if you’re all inclusive. The food at the restaurant was always cooked well and plenty to choose from however be ready to fight for a table with bus trips which seem to turn up out of nowhere… lunch isn’t a buffet it’s a menu and it wasn’t a great choice but breakfast and dinner were both good. The pool was nice and clean, the ‘private beach’ really isn’t up to much and is very Stoney so don’t be expecting to walk along it bare foot. Check your tab at the end as well, ours was over by just shy of €40 which probably was just human error, oh and don’t travel in May, wait until June, the weather was rubbish (again not the hotels fault) and the pool bar is closed until June as well.

As previously stated, this hotel is isolated. There is an infrequent bus service (€10 return) to the local town or there is a taxi service. Our room was nice although the bed was on the hard side. The shower head was at a 90° angle so you couldn't stand underneath it. The hairdryer was a joke. If you need to style your hair, take your own. Fridge only had bottled water.
The restaurant food was good, if luke warm. Make sure you have a good look round before making your choice as it's spread out. Drinks menu in the bar is different to the one in the restaurant. There are no tea/coffee making facilities in your room and no hot drinks available in the restaurant in the evening. You are not allowed to remove anything from the restaurant. Cold Soya milk is available if you ask at breakfast, and the coffee machines dispense hot soya milk or soya cappuccino.
The pool is large, but one end is very, very shallow. The pool bar was not open and the pool toilet was a disgrace.
Pool towels are €3 each with a €20 deposit each on your room tab. Pick up and return to reception. Use of room safe is €2 per day.
The beach, as far as I'm concerned, is a non starter. More like dirt than anything else.
Most on our Travelsphere tour said the hotel was a 3* pretending to be 4*.

First off, the hotel, pool and beach were lovely. The actual 10 night stay at the hotel was a different matter.
My wife and I always make an effort in every country we visit to speak the language and are always polite to the staff and rarely, if at all complain. In fact everywhere we went in Sicily, we made friends with the locals.
The reception staff at the Acacia seemed a bit off with us from the beginning but we thought it was maybe because we were British and in the minority and maybe they had a few badly behaved ones.
Then on the second day, the elevator I was in plunged down and then got stuck between floors. I had injured myself with the jolt and shouted for help. When they got me out they were just nasty. No apologies at all and angry because I had caused a scene from inside the stuck elevator by shouting for help!
I am now considering my next move, especially as it appeared that the staff weren't surprised so it might have actually happened on other occasions.
It continued downhill from there.
The Aircon kept breaking down (or so we thought) and each time we reported it there was a different answer, such as an engineer has been called or we have left a door open or its all gone off around the hotel. The truth is that they switch your aircon off to save money, and usually at night so you don't get a good night's sleep, even though you have paid for this.
And speaking of sleeping, when you have excursions booked for 6:30 am and need to go to bed before midnight, forget it. The 'entertainment' is ridiculously loud and close to the rooms. I felt sorry for the families with young children who couldn't get them to sleep.
As for the room, there is a wardrobe but no drawers anywhere, so no where near enough storage for your clothes or even anything for just the bits and bobs.
The safe was useless and kept locking us out almost every day. They tried to say we were always typing the incorrect code, but we use these safes on every holiday without issue.
There is a mini bar and they tell you it is forbidden to take any outside food or drinks into the room or put them in the mini bar / fridge, so we thought we could get a water or drink when we arrived in the night from the airport. I asked reception if they could stock it and was told it's too late. They never did stock it all holiday and we obviously went thirsty that first night!
And don't think of just booking bed and breakfast unless your prepared to pay for a taxi to the nearest town every day at between €10 and €40 euros each way. There is nothing anywhere near this hotel except a small snack bar up the road, and remember, it is forbidden to take any food or drinks back to the hotel.
It was such a shame because a lovely hotel like that really should be better maintained, have professional staff running it and less silly rules.

Driving into this Resort was magical, such a Tropical Setting and relaxing feel about it before we even got off the Bus.
The Resort has a Huge area of swimming pool and entertainment throughout the day and night.
The dining room has sooo much food to pick from very delicious.
The Wellness Centre is situated on the Second Floor and with sweeping view of the sea, it is a magnificent place to have a massage and relax totally.
Highly recommended as it is situated right on the Beach, so you can swim in the Sea or the fabulous pool.
I would like to go back and enjoy it again.
