My husband and I recently returned from a trip to Italy during which one place we stayed was Antica Casa dei Rassicurati in Montecarlo, Italy. This delightful B & B is run by Gabriel and Debora - and they do a great job. The Inn is ideally located between Lucca and Florence in an old walled medieval village. There are...

Chiara, the owner, is the perfect hostess, always ready with information but never obtruding. In particular she knows which restaurants and wine-bars in the tiny town of Montecarlo are open on which nights. Highlight of the otherwise varied breakfast was homemade fig jam and honey from her relatives in the mountains of the Garfagnana to the north.

Charming hotel, spotlessly clean, and well situated for visitng Pisa and Florence by car. The proprietor Chiara is an endless source of information and does everything to make your stay memorable. The breakfasts are wonderful served with a friendly smile. Not all rooms are en suite so specify on reservation. Montecarlo is small and pretty and there is at least...

Montecarlo makes a lovely base for exploring in Lucca, Firenze, Pisa and other scenic areas in Tuscany, and Antica Casa dei Rassicurati is a comfortable place to stay. The breakfast features homemade cakes and jam. We came in early April, when the mornings still had a bit of chill, and we enjoyed the ambiance and warmth of a glowing wood...

We spent 4 glorious days in the Casa dei Rassicurati in March 2004. Our goal was to *really* get away. The owners were wonderful welcoming women, very concerned that we needed to get out of their town and see the sights, but we had already seen the sights, and needed a "zona di relax," as the Italians call it. We...

We spent 2 nights in this lovely little Bed and Breakfast as a base to explore the area around Lucca....it was a pleasant experience for us! Our room was small but vey comfortable. Both Marta and Miriam were delightful to meet and so helpful. We dined in a small restaurant the first evening at Marta's recommendation and returned the next...

We used Montecarlo as a base for day trips visiting Lucca, Pisa, San Gimignano, Volterra. We wanted to stay in a quiet town, with restaurant and wine options without driving at night. Montecarlo was a perfect choice. It's a beautiful hill top walled town in the midst of vinyards, 10 mins from Autostrade. Antica Casa dei Rassicurati was exactly what...

“Ask to see other rooms for contrast if available. We were taken to a very small room on the 2nd floor which the owner very graciously thought might be more convenient as we're definitely older travelers; however, the 3rd floor room we requested seeing was definitely worth the extra flight of stairs, still small but relatively roomier.”
