From the minutes we arrived until we left we only saw one member of the staff who had a smile. They should be pleased with the volume of business they are doing. If you like brown and 1970s décor you will feel right at home. On the plus side the breakfast was acceptable, wine was good value and the location... More

We stayed here as a group for two days as we toured the area. It has off road parking for motorbikes and is in the centre of the town. The on site restaurant is excellent with waiters that speak English and the rooms all have air con but no balcony. The only thing that let it down for us was... More

O Camelo is a very familiar, cosy and nice hotel. It's very central and very well decorated. The staff is very nice and always ready to help to find all the wonders of this beautiful mountain. The food is also very good.

Camelo it was my "home" for a couple of months. I worked nearby and it was a pleasure arriving every day and interact with hotel's staff. Such a kind staff. You like to run? You have nice places to practice in the surrounding area. I would recommend a visit to the main stadium at the end of the day. If... More

I've spent part of my childhood holidays in hotel camelo back in the 90s so returning there was like a real time travel.. Too bad I didn't find Mr Jorge Camelo the ex owner of the Hotel. The hotel is located near Serra da Estrela (where you can find snow during winter and other times of the year) in a... More

This was a one night stop hotel, its a shame we weren't here longer. This hotel has plenty to do, with a gym, games room and a pool. The rooms are great, having three big comfy beds in each. Due to the weather being poor we chose not to venture into the pool, but did try the restaurant. There was... More

I have mixed feelings about this hotel. The good things are the: - Very affordable rooms rates (40-45 euros/night) - Breakfast buffet - Pretty outside garden - Proximity to hiking trails in Serra da Estrela The downside is that the hotel is pretty old and that the location is fairly remote. For vegetarians, it can be quite challenging to find... More
