‘Abdij de Westerburcht’ is a pure and atmospheric hotel and restaurant with delicious meals. Come relax and enjoy our hospitality in Westerbork. There is free parking, a delicious breakfast buffet and friendly staff. All rooms are equiped with air conditioning/heating system, coffee and tea facilities and an empty fridge. It also has a Smart TV with Netflix app. The hotel is centrally located in Drenthe on a short distance from Assen, Hoogeveen and Emmen. A beautiful snowy landscape in the winter, surrounded by charming forests. It creates a magical look when the first snowflakes hit the ground. It is the ideal place for cycling and walking in summer time. ‘Abdij de Westerburcht’ is inspired on the appearance of ‘Abdij de Koningshoeven’ in Berkel-Enschot, where the only Trappist beer in the Netherlands is brewed under the supervision of monks. You can also find these beers in our restaurant in the form of draft beer or by bottle.

The hotel is located in the center of the nice village of Westerbork. We spent the night here because we were going to walk another part of the Pieterpad and were looking for a nice hotel nearby. And a nice hotel it was. Rooms were fine, we had room 202. Outside the hallway it was a bit noisy at times, but the beds were wonderful and the breakfast was fantastic. A breakfast buffet with fresh orange juice, delicious sugar bread, freshly baked bread and excellent coffee. So highly recommended if you are looking for a nice spot in the heart of Drenthe. We ultimately paid €132.50 for the overnight stay with breakfast, so an excellent price/quality ratio.
We also had dinner in the restaurant in the evening and everything was delicious and the service was very pleasant. So we definitely recommend going to the hotel/restaurant.

With our family we had reserved here to experience the High Wine. Because there were also children who did not drink wine, they could of course choose something else to drink instead of wine:) . Also some snacks were adjusted so that they were children's size! Awesome! The wines and snacks we were served were delicious and the service was extremely friendly and helpful! Definitely recommended to do if you are in the area!

Great food in a cozy and atmospheric restaurant, with friendly, helpful staff. We wanted something that wasn't directly on the map and that wasn't a problem. There was also a lot of service so we were helped quickly and were regularly asked if there was enough.

Delicious meal with the family. Tasty mocktails, wine and food. The food was tasty and well prepared, plenty of choice and for a change a varied children's menu. Service friendly and attentive. The only downside was the toilet, which had an unpleasant smell.

Hi guys,
We booked the abbey room. this is not a standard room.
The beds are comfy. So is the shower.
But, the room is very small.
If you want to open your suitcase, you have to put your suitcase on your bed.
There is no cosy corner in the room. If you want to sleep. Close your suitcase.
And put it on the ground, in upright position.
You can rent a bike for 8,5 euro's a day.
The food is outstanding. Top notch
regards
Schliek

It's an excellent hotel. You will be greeted kindly. The rooms are neat and clean. The beds are fine and the breakfast buffet is very extensive and is sufficiently replenished. There is plenty to do in the area and you can also rent electric bikes. All in all highly recommended.

Stayed one night so as not to have to drive home after dinner. Room with sauna, had clearly been recently refreshed with a new bathroom, lick of paint and new wallpaper. Excellent bed and more than enough for a standard room. For a hotel that wants to be environmentally friendly, it's strange that you don't have a place to hang your towels so you can use them again.

Stayed for three nights when going to Assen Moto GP and the first thing that we noticed was the town is really nice and the hotel is perfectly located for all the local shops. The room was a great size, with a big double bed, excellent shower. We did eat at the hotel the food was excellent, service was great and also the football was shown in a separate bar which just the icing on the cake.

Booked an arrangement here for 2n/3d and were pleasantly surprised to hear that for some reason (my birthday?? :-)) we'd had an upgrade. It proved to be a lovely room, with a sort of an upstairs (settee, TV, desk and bath :-)), a very comfortable bed and a brilliant shower.
The breakfast buffet was varied and very good (I loved the fresh orange juice) and so was the dinner we enjoyed one of the nights. All the staff were very friendly, pleasant and helpful. A lovely place to stay
