Brummen is a small town, but this hotel is just great. Historic old post office with just a few rooms, the hosts are incredibly gracious and helpful. Breakfast was delicious, and the rooms very quiet and beautifully modern. Brummen has a very well-known classic auto museum/gallery which attracts many visitors, and we discovered it by chance while visiting family. Such a wonderful hotel, with everything nearby.

Although belated in writing this review, our experience remains with us months after the trip concluded. What a fantastic hotel and such a marvelous host.

My husband and I were in our usual overly-ambitious trip adventure style, trying to cycle across Holland in about 3 days on the LF4 route. Unfortunately, we missed a critical ferry and had to make a detour which landed us in Brummen at sunset rather than the Hoge Veluwe (the site of our lodging.)

This was also the evening of a carnival which had taken over the little town and we were therefore lucky that folks were still out and could suggest a place to stay the night. This hotel was the top suggestion and within easy walking/cycling distance of the square. And what a gem was in store for us!

The extremely amicable host met us at the door with his equally charming golden retriever as if they had both stepped from a movie set. And we discovered that were lucky that a room was in fact available. It was located on the main floor behind the lovely dining room and as it turned out was the former office where the money was counted - so had wonderfully sound-blocking bullet-proof glass that eliminated all sounds of the carnival. It also had a fantastic bed as well as a gorgeous bathroom with an old-fashioned tub - exceptionally great after biking 65+ miles that day (some in the rain.)

We slept very well and were delighted that our host served breakfast early for us. Whole grain bread (made fresh), delicious preserves, and wonderfully hot soft-boiled eggs as well as great coffee abounded.

Although we never made it to the Huge Veluwe that evening, finding this hotel was worth the adventure! I would love to go back some day. Thank you again!!!

A beautiful hotel, our room was lovely, better than we expected.
We booked for a wedding nearby and all was easily reached by walking, from the train station and to the venue.
Service was great, even when we forgot our toy Miffy for our baby, the owner spotted it and walked to the station where we was waiting for the train, to get it back to us.

My husband, two sons and I stayed in Het Oude Postkantoor during a trip to Holland to visit nearby family.
The hotel used to be a postal sorting office, and elements have been left to remind you of this. The decor is modern and airy and very tasteful. We were given the two newer rooms upstairs which were very clean, spacious and comfortable. The shower rooms are lovely!!
Breakfast in the morning was set in a stunning room. The tables were laid out beautifully. We had a delicious choice of freshly baked bread, croissants, eggs, meat, cheese, yoghurt etc.
The owners were on hand to help us with what we needed and were very hospitable and friendly. We will most definitely visit again when next in the area and recommend this hotel.

"Our room was great - the one on the main floor. Very quiet as it is the original office of the postoffice and has extra-thick glass. Fantastic deep tub and a great mattress awaits you!"
