Had a great stay! Because the other reviews indicate that many asylum seekers were present, I was quite skeptical! But this wasn't too bad, there was no inconvenience and we saw almost no asylum seekers. The ones I saw were extremely friendly. Above all, we had a nice stay and friendly employees!

Been here several times and it is just good here. Clean and nice hotel, nice staff and big rooms. The hotel bar is cozy. We didn't go to the restaurant this time. The Intratuin in Duiven with the Christmas show is nearby. Nice to combine.

The only thing that went wrong was our free drink that we did not receive. A bit strange, but otherwise everything was fine.

I've stayed here a couple of times, but never got around to reviewing. The Hotel is slightly isolated, but as a business hotel has everything I needed. Friendly staff at check in. As I'd been travelling all that day I fancied a drink at the bar to wind down and found the bar staff very friendly and engaging. The room allocated to me as before was massive, in fact only in the USA are standard rooms this large. Clean and comfortable with all the required conveniences. Good temperature, comfortable bed and a super shower that I would have stood under all morning except I had things to do and people to see. Breakfast offers a wide variety of hot and cold food. I decided on an Omelette and had a very nice chat with the man who prepared it for me. Check out was simple and again friendly staff to wish me a nice day.

Been here for the umpteenth time. It is not without reason that we keep coming back here, of course. We have always had a perfect time here. On all levels. From sleeping to eating/swimming etc etc.
At Christmas it is always beautifully decorated and therefore feels very cozy.
But I'll never go there again.
Unfortunately, I had just paid yesterday when 30 asylum seekers suddenly arrived with suitcases. So the chic Van der Valk hotel is now an AZC.
We paid €192 to be included.
Of course I didn't get my money back. But nowhere do they indicate that they are taking care of these people. "You won't have any problems," they said at reception.
Until you want to use the elevator, constantly occupied by asylum seekers, the hotel also smelled strangely.
They also wanted to enter the swimming pool upstairs, so they waited there until we went in.
There was also always knocking on the doors.
We felt very unsafe there.
Several (Dutch people) thought it was strange that things were like this.
But the reception said (it won't bother you due to security).
No security seen by the way. (even though it is strange that this should be there at all in connection with status holders and asylum seekers)
So Van der Valk would rather accommodate asylum seekers for a lot of tax money from the COA than provide normal people with a wonderful night.
So never again van der valk for me.
€192 expensive night at AZC.
I would say boycott those Van der Valk pickpockets.

Very nice AZC, it cannot be called a hotel. If this had been mentioned when booking, we would have avoided this AZC. Swimming pool and wellness closed. Food bad, little taste, price is ridiculously high in relation to the quality. Keep windows and doors closed due to drug use by other hotel guests.

Room Fine
Hotel bar Prima Drinken and the snacks were crispy and tasty
All staff were nice and customer friendly
Wellness was excellent and had a super treatment in the Beauty on the fourteenth.
Restaurant, perhaps the old concept of van der Valk, we would like to see/bring back, then you get value for your money!!
For example, the apple sauce with the cherry or a complete pork tenderloin!
Breakfast was Perfect.
Perhaps the silver containers where the eggs etc. are kept can have different hinges so that the lid remains half open when something is unpacked!!

Just pay attention!!! It is a shelter for status holders or following travelers. Whatever you want to call it. We wouldn't let our daughter work there.
As a paying customer, we felt like we were cheated. We had not been told anything by Van der Valk that it was a shelter.

Such a shame and disappointment that we will no longer choose the exclusive Van der Valk because then we will be disappointed.

220 euro per night which is far too much for what you get. The room was minimum and a very basic set up. Paper cups, no glasses. No tissues, no hand soap, no water bottles. Mini bar empty. No welcome drink was offered, we had to ask for it.
Dinner was mediocre. Soup was thin, tasteless maggi style with a stale bread roll and no butter. Service was arrogant and not professional. No complimentary water, no complimentary bread and butter. Main course took ages to arrive and the arrogant waiter never apologizes for the delay, only had a big mouth. Nobody asks for another drink. Nobody wishes an enjoyable meal. Very disappointing in all aspects.

Disappointing visit. Many asylum seekers traveling up and down in the elevator. Security guards who try to enforce the rules create a special atmosphere. Not hotel worthy and strange sensation
Nice wellness with an expert beautician

This hotel has slipped into a shabby hotel. Our 1st room was very damaged. Holes in the couch, damage to all the furniture, broken lamps. A decrepit room. Nothing on the wall, no accessories and not even glass in the bathroom to brush your teeth. The second room was identical but less damaged. That costs 250 euros per night. The ladies behind the reception were clearly not up for it. No empathy or interest, and she didn't really want to give us a room. The ulcer in the hotel was printed at all. Nobody was really nice and there was no sense of service at all. Something occurred to me that there should be something else.
This hotel is an AZC. That explained the groups of foreign men lying outside in the grass. The laundry hanging over the balconies. I drive a car that is not commonplace. In the garage I found my car with some men around it who were photographing it. Garage is therefore not closed and is a hangout.
When I reported it to the reception and asked if it was indeed correct that this is an AZC there was a very shadowy reaction. I wasn't supposed to say anything about it.
Worthless hotel, while we are always very pleased with van der valk. The media has been checked and the conclusion is that it is good business to turn your hotel into an AZC. Better than providing service to regular guests.

Nice room and good breakfast. However, we were not told when booking that it was a 4* AZC. Upon arrival, the refugees are camping on the lawn at the entrance. Children walk through the corridors on the floors and play in the lifts. sent away late at night. There is security running but doing nothing. Stairwells full of dirt and vomited sunflower seeds.
