The Echoput is located in a National Forrest, across a busy road. Great location to start your bicycle tours, The hotel can store you bicycles.

Echoput staff is very friendly. Rooms are spacious and build from high quality materials. But cleaning could be better. Our shower was not dried out the second day and the balcony chairs had a green tarnish making them unable to use. You get only 1 large towel per guest, which is not meeting the experience level they claim. Balconies are large, but only 2 chairs and no table.

I am not sure why this hotel claims to be 5 star. According to the classifications a 5 star hotel should have a valet service, a concierge, porter, a personal welcome, which were all not available. We have stayed in many 4 and 5 star hotels across the globe, and only can classify Echoput as a good 4 star hotel.

Conclusion: We can recommend The Echoput as a good 4 star hotel.

The hotel is located very close to the national park Hoge Veluwe (which by the way is amazing) and even though it is on the road the rooms overlook the forest which gives a nice relaxing atmosphere. The hotel is very new, clean, and modern and the rooms was quite big, during COVID times they had a dining table set up in the room where we had our 5 course dinner delivered at the door course by course. The food was great, swimming pool and sauna were also very nice, and the staff was very kind and helpful.

Excellent hôtel and restaurant.
Spacious rooms very well appointed.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Nice indoors swimming pool.
Free parking.
The restaurant offers gastronomic dishes.
However it closes on Sundays and Mondays, on those days you can only get a sample of their talents.
Breakfast is of high quality but limited range.
They do not allow checking in before 3PM.

Early last year I booked 7 hotels for a European trip in the early summer 2020 on a pre-paid basis. When all the Covid restrictions came into force, 6 of them very kindly refunded my payments. Guess which one refused to pay me?

At the time of booking Hotel De Echoput for 2 nights, I also prepaid for 2 nights dinners and 2 breakfasts for my wife and I. This alone was for the not inconsiderable sum of over €300. This payment was not covered by any 'no refund' clause.

Since then, emails have gone back and forth. As expected, vouchers were offered which were for a very short time and soon expired. Eventually, after around a year of communications, I was grudgingly offered a repayment for the meals. Then it started .....

• Can't find the original payment - can I send them details of my credit card payment.
• Can I send them an IBAN international banking number for payment.
• After a month of no payment - sorry, Our bank can't find your account.
• After sending all bank details again, silence (and no payment) for six weeks to date.

Whatever happened to common decency and honesty?

Their emails end with 'Warm Regards'. Yeah, Right. Enjoy my money for which you have given me nothing in return.

Dear Mr. Lawrence, I am kindly reverting back to you in regards to the above review. Our hotel is known of being flexible, especially in regards to cancellations due to covid-19. This was as well the case for your reservation. Even though you have reserved a non-refundable rate, we have given you a voucher in order to enjoy our property and its lovely environment in better times. You mentioned in your review that the voucher expired soon and was for a very short time. However we have since your cancellation in May 2020 showed you flexibility and extended the voucher several times, now still valid until the end of this year 2021. As you know, Mr Lawrence, we are still willing to extend if necessary and show you flexibility, like we have done already several times in the past. At the end of February you mentioned you were not able to use your voucher this year and therefore we kindly agreed with a reimbursement of the dinner and breakfast that you have reserved. Unfortunately, as mentioned in my email to you earlier in April, the bank has rejected the refund that we have done on the 4th of March. The money came back on our bank account with a notification from their side, more than one month later on the 8th of April. I have as well sent this notification to you by email as proof directly that same day, with the question if you can provide us another IBAN/BIC account number. You replied that you have verified with your bank stating that the IBAN/BIC number is correct and that it may be rejected due to an incorrect account name. Once we received your reply with the correct account names, we have directly asked our financial department to retry the refund, which they have done. It takes the bank over a month to notify that an international payment has been rejected and it seems that this is again what happened. Mr. Lawrence, as discussed as well in our email conversation, if we promise that we make a refund, then you can trust us on our words. Therefore we are sad to read the above review. We still want you to refund your money, however it seems that the refund is rejected for the second time by the bank. Therefore I will contact you in a separate email to discuss the above in further detail. With kind regards, Femke - Hotel de Echoput

Nice location, friendly staff, spacious room, hygiene also good, breakfast was a bit simple but not bad. What was incredibly disappointing is the air conditioning, which did not work at all. It was sweltering hot in the room. It was impossible to open a window, only a sliding door could open, where everyone could enter through adjacent balconies, not to mention the intense amount of mosquitoes. In addition, the mattress was more like a hammock than anything else: you completely sink into it and gave no support. For that price it should be a lot better!!

My husband and I wanted a short one-night getaway. We saw that the hotel was rated 5 stars but we were hesitant to pay a lot of money. In the end, I convinced him that it would be worth it. Unfortunately, I was wrong. While the sheets looked clean. there was sand in the bed and in the bathtub. There was something gross in the sink as well. When we woke up sore from the horrendous mattress, we found a silverfish in the bathtub. The toilet was stained, the wallpaper was dusty, and some of the furniture was chipped. I am sad that I didn't take pictures to share (the ones online do not give a true representation). While there is a nice patio to enjoy a drink, it is so close to the main road that you cannot truly relax because of the noise from the traffic. The staff at the hotel, however, were very friendly. We also did not eat here so I cannot say if the food was good. Unless the hotel does something about the 5 stars and overall price, I would avoid it and save your money.

I had the privilege of visiting this hotel and definitely enjoyed being treated like royalty. I enjoyed the personal touches that all of the staff added to my stay. I highly recommend any of the foods from the bar menu as well! Really luxurious and well priced. I definitely recommend this hotel for a relaxed getaway.

I visited Hotel de Echoput at the last moment when I realized it was Carnival in other parts of the Netherlands. We were not disappointed! It was in a lovely setting, had wonderful staff, and were very responsive to our needs. My daughter has a lot of allergies and they patiently worked with us. The setting is tranquil and is a great location for walking around. We had dinner at the hotel and it was superb! This is a great break from Amsterdam if wanting to see other parts of the Netherlands. I will visit again!

My husband and I chose De Echoput to celebrate our first wedding anniversary.

Firstly, let me say that the location and the room were, on the whole, excellent (despite the whole hotel being very cold - strange for a newly built hotel) but the core basis of service, were not anywhere near the levels we expected.

The main issue with our stay was the service during our dinner on Saturday evening. We sat down for dinner at 1930 and were promptly asked if we would like an aperitif, as well as being brought an amuse. Following this, our order was taken but we did not receive our first course until 2130. My husband requested a number of times if a member of staff could try and check where our food was as well as speaking to the manager but this was unsuccessful. Subsequently, after the first course, we had to wait an additional 50 minutes for our second course (as part of a 5 course dinner). which we feel is not acceptable, and also that there was limited apology from the staff, the only thing we got was a waiter stating that it was a 'miscommunication'!

Additionally, we ordered a five course wine arrangement with the food. This was significantly below the standard we expected from a restaurant and hotel professing gastromic excellence. Of the four wines we had (Yes I was also surprised to have 4 wines with a 5 course meal), only one was a quality wine, for the remainder, it felt as if we were being provided with various 'house wines'.

When we eventually ate some food it was fantastic so if you are prepared to wait 2 hours for food the restaurant is worth a visit.

On the whole very disappointing and a hotel that will not be getting our custom again.

After running after all the attractions in Nederland we decided to finish the trip in this hotel and it was great decision!!!
It is hotel in the woods and has great restaurant for dinner with perfect waiter MARTIN -he was the reason why we came to the restaurant night by night . He gives you such a great explanation on the food and the wines that while eating the food or drinking the wine you imagine his lyrical explanations that double the experience

Another great adventure was renting bicycle through the woods

Also try the swimming pool.

Tip - order regular room there is no difference from suite to regular room.

Gewoon genieten. Groet Roy
