Visited for 2 night as part of Caledonian Travel group. Loved this hotel large quiet room very comfortable. Nice modern bathroom. Good food for breakfast and dinner and very friendly staff. But best thing was the forest surrounding and family of ducklings in the pond. Bedroom lighting a bit dim.
I was here for the first time on 2013. It was better then. Now, it seems that nobody cares about the maintenance of this hotel. Everything is old and smelly. They can give it sometimes a refresh, because is too bad. The place is beautiful, right in the middle of a little wood.
The website promises much style but although the location is great in the middle of the Veluwe a wooded part of central netherlands, dont be misled. This is all about making money, the hotel is a jumble of different activities and a hotch potch of rooms with two star quality and not four stars. The overall effect is of hundreds of people squashed together, the restaurant is overfull and has long waits, the pool is tiny.
I stayed at the hotel, with colleagues, whilst in the local area on business and I must admit my stay was really rather pleasant! Admittedly we were the youngest in the hotel by quite some distance, but that appears to be because the hotel is used by tourists, who are in the area. Set amongst part of the forest I loved the location for the hotel and the quirks that the whole property has. My room was in the annexe section past the dining area which seemed to have been added to the main building at some point in the distant past. The room was large enough, clean and comfortable and overlooked the main garden and bar patio area. The full board booking we had included dinner as well as breakfast and a packed lunch. Breakfast has a wide variety of continental food and pastry items as well as some warm selections. Dinner was interesting as it is based on a fixed menu which appeared to rotate around a 3 day cycle, which is likely to be perfect for those people on short stays but the longer week long guests soon tire of the same option! I can understand why some feedback suggests that portion size was a little on the small side but I would counter that with the portion sizes being good and enough, considering the number of courses presented and the fact we are more likely wearing bigger portions elsewhere! The grounds are excellent and the hotel is a short walk from the train station and about a 10 minute walk in to the main town. Overall I enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay here again and recommend the hotel for a visit if you find yourself in the area!…
An older 'country hotel' that has transformed into a conference and event center. Small rooms, no amenities in the rooms, skimpy portion sizes at meals in the restaurant. Rooms can be noisy because of poor soundproofing, although the property itself is in a very quiet wooded location away from the village. No temperature control (thermostat) in the rooms. Pleasant staff. Not really what I would call a 4 star, more like a good 3 star.
Only was able to stay one short night, and wasn't able to make use of the Hotel amenities, nor sample the food. This is a charming hotel near the nature area, pretty close to the train station. The rooms seem to all have their own unique charm, though some may not like that sort of thing. The bathroom I had was large however all the facilities were placed together at one end and quite close together, making a small shower. There was so much room yet the renovation of the room didn't seem to allow for much changes. Sleep quality was good and comfortable, and the entire area is super quiet. They do have a water fountain that runs all night, I thought that it would turn off automatically at 11 or 12 but it was always on. The staff was very nice and accommodating. Just be warned that this is not a late night / early morning place. They can lock the doors at 11pm and there is no staff at that time. I did not see anyone at 6 am when I was leaving either. The entire area is for relaxing and seems that most things close by 9pm.…
We stayed from Sunday to Wednesday at this hotel. It is a nice hotel just outside of city of Hettem. The room was nice but this was one of the weekend that was very very hot in July. We took a small fall with us and it did help out so we could sleep. The breakfast was very good. Plenty of things to pick from. Coffee you make yourself. The staff was very friendly. You can rent bikes normal or electric. Dinner was included in the price of the room. I must say the food at dinner time was good.
We booked the littles houses in the woods. They are really cosy and so cute for couples! You can enjoy your privacy on the little terrace eventough the other houses aren’t far from yours. The hotel itself had extremely good service! Everyone you passed would say hello. For breakfast you had a great choice. It was all fresh. There’s also a restaurant at the hotel. We ate there twice. You had a lovely choice. The menu isn’t big but it was enough. It’s a little pricey but very good. We had a great stay and would like to return some time!
Great hotel set in the forest, has the style of an old hunting lodge. In the grounds there is a 1920s filling station with the original pumps. An old pick up has been used in the landscaping of the very pretty gardens. Bedrooms could benefit from an update but the bar and dining room are quaint. A pleasant stay.
When you are searching for a nice weekend of relaxation, Villa Vennendal is highly recommended. This is a nice cozy hotel in the forest. The green surroundings and landscapes will calm you inner self. Either you prefer having a drinks in the terrace or relax in the pool or sauna, this place is the best. Plus the interior decorations are fantastic. An old decorated car will welcome you when you enter the lobby. The decors, in generel, are wild and “foresty”. The breakfast and the services are great. Plus you may prefer to take the train as this is a few meters walking distance from the Nunspeet station.
