We were here with a group of 16 for a weekend. The hotel room was a bit outdated, the bathroom very small and the shower tiny. Bed was giod. Only 2 power sockets in the entire room and the bathroom meters away from the barhroom. Breakfast was decent but simple, dinner was good but although personnel was friendly they were largely unnexperienced and understaffed: it was sometimes hard to order a drink. All in all: decent but not special.

Stayed for a weekend in this hotel that is located near the woods. We stayed in a logde but could use all the facilities of the hotel. So this is an excellent venue to use for an active weekend on the "Veluwe" The dinner was very good, the breakfast was a bit average.

Visited for 2 night as part of Caledonian Travel group. Loved this hotel large quiet room very comfortable. Nice modern bathroom. Good food for breakfast and dinner and very friendly staff. But best thing was the forest surrounding and family of ducklings in the pond. Bedroom lighting a bit dim.

We visited the hotal last wednesday until this morning, so stayed for two nights
The hotel is located in a beautifull landscape at the western edge of the national park of the Veluwe , with its drifting sand dunes, moores, forest and large patches of heather.

It is ideal for wanderes and bikers both sportive and for pure relaxation.

The hotel is housed in an old stately house or villa, has a lovely terras with good midday and afternoon sun , pleasant staff, the restaurant has stil this old style design with open fires and so on. A nice detail is in the fact that they burn large candles at several place in the restaurant. It makes it cosy

The food is good, and well served by the young staff. We had the idea that the hotel is in a new aera, with young management eager to make the place a success. They are on the right track

Things to improve; the wall of our room nr 42 was damaged, the plaster came of the wall at one spot, the tiles at the badroomfloor are not pleasant to your feet , some are uneven and with sharp edges, this can be improved with no much effort . The bed was ok , furniture a bit out if date but functional

In general; a good place to stay, great outdoors around the corner

I was here for the first time on 2013. It was better then. Now, it seems that nobody cares about the maintenance of this hotel. Everything is old and smelly. They can give it sometimes a refresh, because is too bad. The place is beautiful, right in the middle of a little wood.

The website promises much style but although the location is great in the middle of the Veluwe a wooded part of central netherlands, dont be misled. This is all about making money, the hotel is a jumble of different activities and a hotch potch of rooms with two star quality and not four stars. The overall effect is of hundreds of people squashed together, the restaurant is overfull and has long waits, the pool is tiny.

I stayed at the hotel, with colleagues, whilst in the local area on business and I must admit my stay was really rather pleasant!

Admittedly we were the youngest in the hotel by quite some distance, but that appears to be because the hotel is used by tourists, who are in the area.

Set amongst part of the forest I loved the location for the hotel and the quirks that the whole property has.

My room was in the annexe section past the dining area which seemed to have been added to the main building at some point in the distant past.

The room was large enough, clean and comfortable and overlooked the main garden and bar patio area.

The full board booking we had included dinner as well as breakfast and a packed lunch. Breakfast has a wide variety of continental food and pastry items as well as some warm selections.

Dinner was interesting as it is based on a fixed menu which appeared to rotate around a 3 day cycle, which is likely to be perfect for those people on short stays but the longer week long guests soon tire of the same option!

I can understand why some feedback suggests that portion size was a little on the small side but I would counter that with the portion sizes being good and enough, considering the number of courses presented and the fact we are more likely wearing bigger portions elsewhere!

The grounds are excellent and the hotel is a short walk from the train station and about a 10 minute walk in to the main town.

Overall I enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay here again and recommend the hotel for a visit if you find yourself in the area!

This lovely hotel is located in beautiful Nunspeet, within easy walking distance from the train station. Guests find themselves surrounded by nature, lovely gardens, pond and bridge, fountains and unique outdoor decorations. This is an older style property with a romantic ambience throughout. It is reflected in the cozy lobby which has several separate seating area's with comfortable sofa's and chairs. The unique atmosphere is reflected in the various hallways which meander through the different wings of the hotel. You will find a beautiful old world style library with computer and reading lamps, fireplace with armchairs, and numerous other nooks and crannies. In addition to the main restaurant and the bar, the hotel has other facilities for weddings, reunions etc.

The setting and presentation of the hotel itself get 5 stars.

The rooms are very basic, 3 stars:
the beds are very very comfortable (two singles, pushed together. This is common in Europe), the bathroom is good/satisfactory, the woodburning fireplace inside each room is a wonderful feature, and the ground floor rooms have french doors that open onto a private patio. Quite nice, really. No fridge/microwave, which is also common in Europe.

The hotel's restaurant was very disappointing, (both at breakfast and dinner).
It is best avoided alltogether.
If you walk 5 minutes, you come to a crosswalk. Cross the main road there ("Elspeterweg") and on the other side you will find "Restaurant Joris", a wonderful family restaurant which is so popular it is always busy. They have an impressive menu as well. You can enjoy an excellent meal here at a reasonable price.

We would like to stay at Villa Vennendal again, but we would take our meals across the road.

The hotel looks brilliant from the outside and is perfectly located on the border of the village and as a starting point for walkings or bike rides in the northern part of the VELUWE. The hotel is very close to restaurant facilities. The hotel itself is average with comfortable beds, nice rooms and common bathrooms. The breakfast buffet is excellent and staff is very helpful and kind.

Hotel Vennendal was built around 1975 and has not undergone big changes (or no changes at all !). The tiny but fast elevator brought me back to 1976 when it was built.
The spacious room with desk for the computer and WIFI, the bathroom with bath and shower, the twin bed bedroom were all very clean.
Breakfast buffet and evening meal were of a decent quality and variety, the staff was extremely friendly even if some were not really professionally trained. The wine list could satisfy wine amateurs at very reasonable prices.
The area has very interesting views to offer, lakes as wel as the Veluwe nature park.
We booked via an agent (Weekenddesk) and the price was amazingly low
The only negative remark is that the room was available only from 15.00 hrs which cuts the first day short.
