This is a very nice hotel in the middle of the forested landscape of the Veluwe, close to historic towns such as Harderwijk, Amersfoort, Apeldoorn and Arnhem and their various attractions. The village is tiny but still has several attractive restaurants to choose from, which is why they call Vierhouten the culinary village. Hotel Vossenberg is a relatively old but largely renovated hotel, on the edge of village and forest and its location guarantees quiet nights (one night we spotted some deer close to the village). The bedrooms are of a good size, fairly simple but with very good beds. The breakfast is fine (make your own bacon & eggs) and staff is friendly. For its price, this is a great value hotel.

Its been a long day due to the snow back in the uk and all i wanted was my bed , we arrived and was greeted by a very charming night porter.he explained in depth all about the hotel and what time breakfast time was etc ,the room was large and you could swing 2 cats round so pretty big,the beds are too die for(very very nice )i had a look at the mattress so i could look the company up when i got back home. plenty off scalding hot water with a good power of water in the shower, another good point im 6ft 3 and the height of the head was perfect no need to crouch,Breakfast was a definite not to be missed , even thou i still was missing my bed .full range off choices plenty too choose from to set you up for the day. Staff very friendly and plenty of eye contact ,Im in the industry myself and know what to look out for .you will be relaxed and ready to continue your journey after a night at this hotel . Thank you for making my stay so welcoming i will be back and hope you carry on doing what you are doing a credit to to you all

We stayed here for a one night stop-over. The room was pretty small (although we were told this in advance, we didn't realise 'how small'). If you were much taller than 6 ft then you'd have trouble sitting on the toilet without banging your knees on the opposite radiator - which incidentley was turned on in the morning (on a very warm August night). Unfortunately the room was above the kitchens so if you had the windows open (we had to, as there was no AC) then you will get food smells wafting into your room. The room (room 10) however was comfortable and clean, the service was friendly and the breakfast was of a good standard.
Be aware if you're not great with stairs I would stay away from the first floor, the stairs are extremely steep and narrow (although there is only one flight of them) and need to be used with care.

This hotel with restaurant is located in the center of the little village of Vierhouten. From the terras that is heated in winter and cold days you can relax and have a drink while observing the exotic cars , cyclists and motorbikes driving by on their organised sightseeing tours. The food is very basic and rather plain. Not really an asset of the place and not an attraction for those who are into minimum basic good quality. The staff is generally friendly but can be a bit brusk and curt for no apparent reason like a too busy terras. After a view of such encounters my enthousiasme to visit the place has been low and in fact I have not been there for quite a while and also don't feel an urge to do so since the food is also not a particular attraction. The hotel is okay I guess if you are looking for simple accommodation. I only bring my business guests there is the other hotels are full so...All in all it's a bit so-so...

Not my first time in Vierhouten but the first time in De Vossenberg. Good weekend, good food and friendly staff. You need to stay in a renovated room (ground floor). On first Floor not good. Am sure to come back.

Decided to eat asparagus here a couple of weeks ago after a good experience 4 years ago. But this time the food was below par, also the meat-dish my wife had. We didn't use the hotel facilities, but the restaurant was a big disappointment

This place is remote but great for walkers and bicyclists. De Vossenberg's terrace is neat and the staff is alert and friendly. The breakfast is good. The village is quiet with a few further eating establishments. The routes for walkers could be better marked. We had to deal with a few surprises as the printed instructions we had received in various places were not sufficient, the marking along the trail abruptly ended, etcetera. We had the same experience regarding paths for walkers in the near-by Nunspeet.

I've stayed there while attending an event in the neighborhood. It is a nice country hotel. We had a very spacious room, well maintained and clean. It was located in the building next to the main one. The hotel has a big own parking lot, so going by car there is not a problem. My advice - take the option with breakfast! The choice was large and abundant, with a lot of fresh produce, practically there was everything you could think of. I was pretty surprised how lively this place is on the weekend! The large terrace was crowded the whole day.
You won't be mistaken if you chose to dine in the restaurant as well. Good food and fair prices. You have the choice between a regular size meal or a ladies/senior size, which is quite nice if you want to enjoy a three course meal and not feel completely stuffed at the end, or if you are sensitive about your weight... And what you should really, really try is the macaron with raspberries (macaron framboos). It is yammie, it is clever, it is sensational! I would return there only for this dessert!
In a nutshell - if you happen to be in the area or if you are a nature-lover, De Vossenberg won't disappoint you, on the contrary - it will surprise you!
