To date we have written 3 letters to different address of The Van de Valk group to complain about the behaviour and manner of the male receptionist. I will not go into detail suffice it to say that I had to ask him to stop berating me so that I could actually say something. We were also exceptionally unhappy with a room a member of our party was offered. On the day the temperature was 31C. The exceptionally large window had been in the full sun all afternoon. The curtains were open but the windows were closed. The room was impossibly hot. The manager said that it was not an air conditioned hotel and that the person occupying the room should open the window. I tried. It took some force to lift it but it slid straight down. These are serious complaints. I invite Van de Valk to respond to this report with an address to which I can write. Obviously it needs to be directed to a representative above the level of manager of the hotel.…
I made a reservation on booking.com, one day before arrival I had to cancel my plans, the cancellation fees was clearly stated as 62.5 EUR ( first night), instead they charged me 125 EUR. I contacted booking.com and while waiting for the refund, I was charged again another 62.5 EUR, then shorly after another 62.5 EUR!! This is outright theft or at best incompetence! I contacted the hotel but no reply so far! They truly care for customers!
Love this place awesome hotel with a great pool and sauna. Marion is wonderful and we will be staying a lot longer next time. Can not fault anything rooms lovely and comfrey beds amazing and even has its own on site farm with a wonderful selection of animals. Absolutely love this place thank you for making us feel so at home.
After a wedding of two friends of ours we were not allowed to drive back home anymore by Dutch law so we had to find a hotel. We booked the cheapest room (room 32) and it was not hard to find out why that room was the budget room. It was located on the second floor, on a place that looked like an attic. It was located next to the boiler room, so a lot of heat was entering the room. It felt like a sauna. Anyways, we opened some windows and fell asleep. We both drank enough to have some good sleep in this hot, yet comfortable and clean room. Some places were a bit dusty, but this did not affect our stay. The staff was kind and because we booked through their official website we got a free drink.
Lots of insects inside the room, outside and in the restaurant. Also its dirty. Beds are very unconfortable (quite used and soft)... bath was not clean. We change the room due to the shower was not working properly, initial room had not got air conditioning, and was even worst. Stairs very small to go with suitcases. Breakfast is not good at all. Parking and staff were ok.
