Great small hotel with clean good size rooms & modern bathroom Terrace by the water in front of the hotel, pub style dining room with good food and service, and good breakfast. Quiet & peaceful location, close to Blokzijl and Giethoorn with the car. Lots of opportunity for walking. Would definitely stay again.

It’s a pity. The restaurant is attractive and the food is rather good. But we waited almost two hours to get the dinner on our table, which completely spoiled my mother-in-law’s 88th birthday party. After a very slow coffee and dessert, the whole thing took more than three hours. This was an expensive dinner at a nice restaurant. We expected something much better! Worse still, the restaurant staff and owner simply didn’t seem to understand what the problem was. They work at their own pace and at their leisurely convenience. They blame the customers when the kitchen staff is busy. It’s bizarre. And never a real apology. Despite our complaints, it didn’t even occur to them to make a concession or apology when the bill came. This was terrible service with a smile. I would not go back.

We stayed here for a night and the surprise menu. About the hotel, clean, rooms big enough with a good bathroom. The environment very quite, Muggenbeet is located basically in a National Park. The restaurant served a perfect diner, enough surprises and well served. The staff without any exception friendly and services minded. An absolutely recommended place to stay!

Probably the very first hotel were we really checked in totally hazzle free. No papers to fill in, no credit card registration the staff was so friendly and made you feel at home as if for your stay you felt part of the neighbourhood. The rooms are well equiped and very clean. The pub as entertaining, friendly waiters that make the your stay not like one of this touristic spots in Giethoorn. The food was outstanding and the home signature dish muggebeet appetizer is a real treat. Only a few km from the city center of giethoorn along the water in a very rustic and peacfull street. For international travellers the only downside is that you need a car to get there. We would go back anytime.

A hotel that's comfortable enough and clean. A cafe that gives you the feeling that the time stood still and a restaurant for intimate fine dining. The staff are very helpful and accommodating. No complaint regarding WIFI. You don't even have to ask for a password. So, after a busy and stressful week, a place to be, to recharge. Perfect location, in the middle of national park, biking distance from Blokzijl and Giethoorn, the Little Venice of the North. So what more do you need for a perfect weekend.

This property is located at a quiet place with a stunning natural view. Need own vehicle or taxi to reach the place. Though the hotel is near the highway, still you need to walk almost 15 minutes to reach the hotel if you arrived by public transportation. I stayed only one night here. Room was good with adequate facilities. Friendly and most helpful staff. Especially the hostess Ms Wilma. After the check-in process, she had given me the bike for rent with a route map to visit Gietoorn. Food was excellent and so tasty. Dutch styled breakfast with different kind of freshly baked breads and fresh juices. It"s really sweet to wake up hearing the birds chirping in the morning!! Had got a chance to do a morning walk through the nearby areas with the beautiful views. While check-out it was difficult to get a taxi as my train booking is within an hour. However Ms Wilma gone beyond the expected service by dropping me to the train station Steenwijik. Super service!!.Need to stay more days in future.

A picturesque setting next to water gives this hotel it's charm. It's proximity to Giethoorn and various cycle routes is a great advantage. The staff, we found to be very friendly, contrary to some other reviews. The rooms were fine. A bit dated but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very Dutch (and by that I mean hagelslag and boiled eggs!), but there was a wide range of bread that had been freshly baked. Breakfast was ok for one or two nights, but after that could be a bit repetitive. Be aware that there is no lounge, which is a real shame in the autumn/winter months as although the outside area looks appealing, you then notice the lack of indoor facilities.

We traveled with friends by boat to this restaurant. The food was very good and the atmosphere lovely. We sat outside overlooking the canal on a warm beautiful day. The service was excellent. We all enjoyed the experience. BTW: you can arrive by car or boat.
