We had booked what we thought was just a low cost stay, but had a very pleasant time, and discovered a very beautiful location with great biking in the nearby fields, woods and along the Vechte (river). The building is a little quirky, and the room was simple but comfortable and clean, the staff friendly and helpful and the food is excellent - both the restaurant and breakfast. Great value for money. One minor gripe - some maintenance on the doors would make it quieter.
We were warmly welcomed by the lady of the house. In general the service is okay and the food tasty. The hotel is simple in its interior as are the rooms (bed, closet, table, coffeemaker, television set). But a good bed and a hot shower. The main light in the bathroom was faint and could have more wattage. Next, it is a pity that there is only one chair in the room, where it could have been two (although the standard room itself is not large). We had a good night sleep although the room was the first one on the hallway and many people stayed in the hotel. The fire doors to the hallways are quite heavy to open, especially if you are carrying your luggage up the stairs. In general, the price we paid for the room was very much okay for a room during the summer season.
The hotel has a very nice and relaxing atmosphere. The standard rooms are a bit small, so better to book the comfort room. When you have an allergy, you can ask for the allergens card at dinner, showing per dish the allergy problems. They also serve glutenfree bread rolls at breakfast, when you make known that you have a gluten allergy. The hotel has no elevator, so you must be able to walk the stairs. The parking and internet (WiFi) is free.
Have stayed here many times before when we come for Herdenking on May 4. We received our usual warm welcome. The rooms are clean although the décor is beginning to look a bit "tired". Breakfast choices are good from the buffet. The evening "asparagus menu" served at the time we were there is particularly good. Service is not particularly quick but this obviously because the food is cooked to order, and it shows!
I booked at the Hof van Dalfsen for a one night stay. It turned out I had made a mistake. We need a hotel with an elevator. The hof van Dalfsen doesn't have one. Immediate problem, immediately solved when explained. We got an alternative room on the ground floor. The extra money for a bigger room on the ground floor was minimal. The room is good. Everything you need is there. Enough chairs so you can receive guests in your room, coffeemaker, television, wifi. Nice shower room. The mattresses are good. Sadly between the beds there was a bit of a gap.Still had a wonderful night. The dinner that evening was good to, surprisingly good. The Hof van Dalfsen is a simple hotel but the kitchen is one notch above that. The food was tasty, well portioned and well prepared. This is a Hotel and retaurant I definitely recommend to those who want a good nights sleep and a nice dinner in a very nice dining room. On a nice summers day the terrace is most likely a very good place to be with a nice view. The breakfast was lovely to. One thing I liked was that you could prepare your own eggs and bacon for which all the necessary was provided. No powdered scrambled eggs here. Did I mention that the coffee here is very good?…
Stayed here on a short business trip in April. It is a very hospitable traditional hotel. The rooms are adequately sized but with small en-suites. Hydronic heating in each room adds to a cosy feeling, and the rooms are very clean. The restaurant was really good with excellent wait-service and a good variety of meals. The meal quality was good and portion sizes generous. Very happy to stay there again.
We stayed in the "Hof van Dalfsen" for one night during our hiking trip along the 'Maarten van Rossum' trail. It is nicely situated a bit outside the center. We had dinner in the resaurant, which was really excellent. We took the "Hof van Dalfsen" menu. Every course was very tasty. Also the breakfast was good. The room was ok. Other rooms might be nicer since we had a room that was not yet renovated. The hotel offers also a shuttle service to the center/station.
