When checking into the room, the room gave a sloppy impression because the curtain was half hanging. This does not give a welcome feeling.
There was also a spider on the ceiling. I reported this to reception, they didn't have time to remove them. The next day they removed the spider and hung the curtain properly because I indicated it again.
The bathroom is outdated and the shower did not work properly and it should be replaced.
The breakfast was good and the evening meal was also good.
In the evening we played a board game in the bar and the washing up team made a lot of noise, actually disturbing.
I reported this to the waiter and he said that he did not dare say anything because they were already satisfied that they had someone to do the dishes. So a lot of noise or not, you just had to accept it. You also pay 20 euros tourist tax here and 10 euros per day. The bed is also no longer made, even though this is still a service that you get at someone else.

We had the Vechtdal Suite at our disposal! Nice, neat room!
Welcoming staff: very helpful.
And how great that people are consciously concerned with sustainability, the environment and staff deployment (also useful because of the tight labor market). You will be asked to indicate whether the room needs to be cleaned or towels changed.

The only downside (for a suite) is that on hot days the room (without air conditioning) remains very warm. Okay: and no coffee in the room :)
Opposite this is a beautiful spacious hotel room with king-size bed (with whirlpool and separate shower), excellent facilities for luggage and a spacious toilet.
In the restaurant we were pampered with a 5-course surprise menu, with a matching wine arrangement: highly recommended!

Booking was easy, did not include breakfast (17,50 per person is not worth it for me, regardless of what I am eating). Room was good value for money.

We wanted to get away for a night, I am from the area and knew that the Sun Hotel had to be just a step higher than the rest in the area. so we opted for the river suite with a view of the battle and the ''romantic package''. I had no idea what this meant exactly, but we thought it would be nice. (in our heads some rose petals would be thrown on the bed haha) once we arrived at the hotel with its luxurious entrance, we were received very friendly, with an immediate question asking if we wanted something to eat... you could say it was a normal The question may be, we only had a package, so that question was unnecessary... and I assume that if a hotel offers packages, it also wants to relieve your worries and will not ask nonsensical questions.
Then we went to the room that has been renovated, and it really worked out well! it definitely turned out to be a beautiful room! until we opened the bathroom door, it was very sad! and definitely did not match the photos from the hotel reservation program.
I personally found that very annoying.
Then we went for a drink in Ommen which was very nice, nice cafes!
At the beginning of the evening we went back to eat something in the restaurant of the sun, and although we received a friendly welcome and everything seemed fine. We were asked again whether we had a 3 or 4 course meal or whether we wanted to order something from the menu, and I told them that we had a ''romantic arrangement'', the host in the restaurant had no idea what that meant. withholds.....
so I was able to train staff there myself to indicate what it should entail.
The food was very good though! compliments to the chef!
but all in all it has a bitter aftertaste for us, due to the misinformation on the site and the failure to inform employees.
The price for the room is too high for what it is now, apparently the hotel itself sees that and then prints photos of another bathroom in the reservation system.

Terrible stay; the room was 7m2 with the bed placed half under the windowsiill; the glass of the window was broken and semi-fixed with ducktape (?); I was transferred to another room, why put a guest in this room if others are available? Diner was inclusive, but beware: they offer you bread, fries, salad, but all at additional cost! I ordered a white wine, and they served me their most expensive Sauvignon (€7.50 per glass). All this wasn’t clear until checkout the next morning.

No coffee facilities in the room, no safe and no shampoo, conditioner and body cream in the shower cubicle, no shower foam or soap. The room is absolutely not worth €200. We regularly stay in hotels in this price range and this room is far below par and downright boring. I have attached at least a dozen runners to the curtains myself. The room is clean. The breakfast is quite good, except that I first had to remove about five plates from the pile to get a clean one, the coffee mugs are from IKEA, come on. The staff is friendly.

Surprise menu Had lunch. Persuaded by waiter for hot smoked salmon as a starter. Was served; slice of cold smoked salmon with a tasteless white paste wrapped in it. Main course: sliced duck breast that appeared to have been cooked in the microwave. You can expect the skin to be fried crispy with this dish. Add coffee or a piece of chocolate cake. Checkout €42. Can't recommend this to anyone. I have to say that I have had much tastier and better food in the same establishment. This surprise lunch menu leaves me with a bad taste and is not recommended.

Great location and walking distance to shops and restaurants.
However, no room service was provided, no clean towels or bins emptied. This is because of “Duurzaamheid” from hotel management.
We believe “Duurzaamheid is Luiheid” and poor quality.
Bathroom outdated and luxaflex too short to cover the bathroom window.
No flyscreens on all the windows.
Floor is making cracking noise when walking over it. The mini bar fridge has damaged front.
The glasses were dirty at the breakfast buffet, what we showed to the staff.
Breakfast buffet has been minimal (cut back in size) compared to other years.
Staff forgot to bring champagne to the room on arrival whilst this was clearly communicated at front desk.
Overall untrained staff what has no clue what they’re doing and clueless.
Windows and outdoor terrace are dirty and there was no communication before arrival that the “beach” was closed due to high water in the river.
There was simply no ambiance sitting outside overlooking the river and town.
Overall prices of food and drinks are much higher than the neighbouring bars and restaurants.
The price and quality are definitely NOT in line and it looks like the hotel management only wants our money.
Definitely looking elsewhere next time.

The hotel did not keep the reservation. We reserved a beautiful room with a view of the Vecht through WonderBox and received confirmation, but were given a small dated room with a view of buildings and had to pay extra because 1 overnight stay was not accepted through WonderBox. After our objection, we received the additional payment back, but the bitter taste remains.

Very disappointing visit last weekend. The room had not been cleaned (bed slept in!), dated, no air conditioning, cramped, stuffy, only 1 window can be left ajar, tear in awning, TV and refrigerator cannot be used at the same time because there are too few sockets, poor signal on the TV, shower room is cramped, dated shower head/hose that you cannot comfortably stand under. And €205 was asked for it, rarely experienced such a low price/quality. There was no other room available and no compensation. I won't be back anytime soon despite the fact that the breakfast was fine and the staff friendly.
